Very well. My regular electrician did not have an opening for 2 weeks and the range was to be delivered in a few days. So I turned to the fb yard sale sites and the ‘Nextdoor’ email list for my neighborhood. I got recommendations within 2 hours. David Knight got several mentions, so I left a message. Duchess Knight called back very shortly thereafter and said that, while her company could not accommodate me because several employees were out sick, she recommended Barry Landman of Landman Electric (256-534-0146). He picked up and said he would get back to me. A few minutes later he said that he was near my home and could stop by for an assessment. He did, gave me a reasonable quote, and said he could come after noon the next day! Mr. Landman came today and completed the job in a timely manner for the price quoted, even though my walls presented a few challenges and it took longer than anticipated. The location requirements were kind of picky and there is plumbing on the other side of the wall. He was very courteous. I feel so fortunate to have gotten the work done before the scheduled delivery and installation by Bob Wallace Appliances in two days. Barry Landman and David Knight are definitely on my list of great service providers.

The fluorescent light fixture in our kitchen stopped working, so I attempted to find the problem. The ballast had melted. I am very hesitant to work on electrical problems, so I reviewed Angie's List for electricians and selected Landman Electric, based upon the previous reviews and proximity of the business to our house. I called Barry Landman the next day. We discussed the problem in a question and answer session. He knew exactly what parts were needed to fix the light fixture and we scheduled an appointment for the following morning. Mr. Landman showed up on time and had repaired the light fixture in a half-hour. He replaced a digital ballast, 4 fluorescent lights, and wired the ballast to the lights and power source. The bill was very detailed and reasonable. He cleaned up after himself and was exceptionally professional in every way.

Mr. Landman arrived on time for the estimate. He was very polite and professional. He made notes as we talked and he made some good suggestions that we had not thought about. He was very thorough. When he left he advised that he would work up the estimate and mail it to us. A few days later, we received his estimate in the amount of $1440.00 and thought it was fair. After reading some reviews for Mr. Landman on Angie's List, we decided to award the job to him. His crew, Todd and Shane, arrived on the scheduled day at the scheduled time. They were very polite and friendly. They asked a few questions and we went over the items to be done to make sure we were all in agreement. I showed them the crawl space access and the attic access. They went right to work. They were very proficient and did not waste any time. They were very good about asking questions to clarify what was to be done if there was any doubt or confusion. Mr. Landman would come by and check on the progress as needed. They completed all they could do until we were through with the installation of the new cabinets, counter tops, and unplanned installation of some new sheetrock and ceilings. When the old cabinets were removed, we discovered there was no drywall behind the false header at the top of the cabinets on the ceiling above the false header. We had to stop and call in a drywall man to come out and put up drywall where there was nothing but wall studs and trusses. We decided to remove the old paneling that had been painted over in the kitchen and put up drywall while we had the drywall man there. We also decided to have the ugly stippled ceiling in the kitchen, family room and hall redone. The stippling could not be scraped so they striped the ceiling and put up new drywall on the ceiling while they were there. In order to put up the new drywall on the ceiling the two ceiling fans with lights in the family room had to be taken down. They also had to take down the two ceiling light fixtures in the hall. This resulted in our asking Mr. Landman to have his crew re-hang the ceiling fans and hall lights. We also decided to go ahead and put under counter lights in the laundry room, to add another pendant light over the bar and to install a matching pendant light over the sink instead of the recessed light. When the appliances were delivered, they could not be certain which wires went to the garbage disposal so they would not hook it up. I asked Mr. Landman to have his crew wire the disposal in addition to the other items. Mr. Landman and his crew, Todd and Shane were very accommodating about these extras that came up along the way. When all the work was completed, Mr. Landman added $270 to the original estimate for the additional items they did that were not included in the original estimate. We thought that was a very fair amount. We were very pleased with Mr. Landman, Todd and Shane. They made this an easy part of the remodeling. They were not only very knowledgeable, proficient and conscientious; they were also very personable and polite. They were good about cleaning up as they went. I would not hesitate to call them again for any electrical work I needed and would definitely recommend them to anyone needing to have any electrical work done.

Todd was checking out the garbage disposal and noticed that the lights got brighter and then dimmer as we turned the disposal on and off. He told me he thought we had a 'false negative'(?) situation and he called Mr. Landman who contacted the utility company. He told us it could be very dangerous since it could fry our electronics; televisions, computers, etc. The utility company came out very quickly and found that squirrels had chewed on the power lines from the road to our house. They fixed the problem right then. If Todd had not contacted Mr. Landman and Mr. Landman had not contacted the utility company we could have had a serious situation. We are very grateful for their concern and helpfulness. It means a lot when people go over and above what is expected.

Mr. Landman responded quickly to our request for an estimate and showed up when promised to perform the estimate. The technicians also showed up on time to perform the repairs, perfomed the work in the time estimated and for the estimated cost.

They are really good. I have recommended them to many others. I am a retired contractor, so I know what to look for. They are really punctual. They also stick to their quote. They are an all around good company.

Said they would be here at 9 AM and at 9 they showed up. I described the work to be done and why and they went to work. We discussed progress and "how and where" as the work progressed. They were completed by noon and I asked about payment and they said I would get a bill in the mail. Todd and Shane were the two main workers doing the work and they were polite, courteous and informative and business like. They showed concern for the house interior and how the work would look after finished. We had one difficulty: in the kitchen in installing the canned lights, we discussed where to put them. After beginning to cut the sheetrock, we found that we were going through a 2 x 4 and had to shift the light location over to avoid cutting the 2 x 4 brace.

Everyone we spoke to on the phone was very pleasant, professional, and helpful. They managed to fit us in during the holiday week, arrived when they promised to, and did the work we asked. They were even patient and pleasant with my husband, who was rather testy and out of sorts.
