Great. Kevin greeted me as soon as I entered the offices, and after I explained what my truck was doing, he promised to have it diagnosed that afternoon. After calling me that afternoon with a diagnosis and quote, he and his technician stayed til 9:30 that night to complete the work. It was a major job. He even made arrangements for me to pick up my truck the next day - Saturday. It's now two and a half weeks later and the truck is still running great.

Smoothly...no problems.  Cost is a rough estimate...don't recall exactly but did not consider it unreasonable.  I think they are very straight shooters and do a good job.  Let's face it...you bring your car to get it fixed and that is your expectation.  In my experiences there that is what I get - a fixed car.

Repairs went smoothly.  The only reason for the downgrade on quality was not related to the service, but with regards to the quality of the replacement door locks.  One went out immediately, but they replaced it promptly at no charge.  The same one quit working sometime later while the other one buzzes when used.  The one that quit started working again but also buzzes like the other one.  They just need to pick a different supplier of this part in the future.  I see this as no fault of theirs and this review is likely the first feedback they have of the issue (with the exception of the one they replaced a second time).  I don't really recall how much it all cost, but I did not consider it unreasonable.

I looked for an honest service provided and found one here. Courteous, professional and timely service. Kevin informed me of potential issues (that I was already aware of) and did not push anything other than awareness. The coat was right along the estimate provide. I will be returning here for my automotive service needs

It went great.  Kevin is awesome!  He and his wife run the business and they are very honest and would not over charge
anyone.  They are great people and represent this industry very well.  Most women have no idea what needs to be done
when repairs are needed for their automobile.  It is nice to know you can trust them to be honest and not do anything
unnecessary that would be additional cost.  They are not out for themselves but for serving their customers.  I highly
recommend Kevin's Auto Service.

The price was high but since they were recommended, I went with them. In order for him to determine what was wrong with the car in the first place, I had to pay $135.00. I was with my son when he told them he had heard a noise, that was intermittent, and that someone had told him from another auto service place that it was a transmission issue. Kevin's decided that it was a water pump issue. It was almost $600.00 that I had to pay to have the water pump replaced. My son did not go back to him immediately because he's out of town and needed his car for work. My son called me up and said the car was still making the noise, so he took it back to Kevin's who said they would not do anything because the problem was fixed. I called Kevin's myself to find out why they wouldn't look into it, and then they said that now there might be a transmission problem and he got a little snippy when I pointed out that we mentioned this in the first place.
Response from Kevin's Auto Repair
"The customer and her son had taken their toyota matrix to different shops to have an intermittent rattle/growl noise diagnosed and had different diagnosis each time . When they brought the vehicle to us, we not only did we diagnose the rattle noise, we also diagnosed the AC not working & the dome light not working and a right popping noise for a total repair of $250. They did decide to have the water pump and belt replaced for a repair of $459.00. We test drove the vehicle and the noise was gone. The customer brought it in 5 weeks later and said it was the same noise but it was a clicking noise on the throwout bearing. We were informed that it was under warranty at another shop and they would return there for the repair."

I called to say my car wouldn't start, the battery was relatively new and I hadn't driven the car very much in the last year.  I paid the tow driver directly.  Kevin called to say the fuel pump needed to be replaced and the charge would be around $800.  I called the local Jeep dealer, and the cost was the same; therefore, I told Kevin to go ahead and fix it.

When the shop called to say the car was ready, I asked if he had driven it on the highway at highway speed (60 mph) to make sure it was driving properly and that nothing else was wrong with it.   Kevin indicated that he had driven it down the short street by his shop, and that I had NOT asked him to CHECK THE WHOLE CAR OVER.  In my opinion, when I had my car towed to his business NOT KNOWING what was wrong with it, it was his responsibility to let me know what was necessary to insure the car could be driven safely.

When I picked the car up, I drove no more than 5 miles and had reached 40 mph when the entire car started shaking so bad that I had to drive very slowly to the first garage I could find.  I ended up paying another $937.00 for wheel bearings, rear end work, and brakes at another car repair shop that Kevin should have discovered had he driven the car at highway speed to test its functionality AFTER the repair.

NO, I WILL NOT HAVE WORK DONE THERE AGAIN.
Response from Kevin's Auto Repair
"Customer had vehicle towed in for a no start issue. Troubleshot and found a bad fuel pump. Installed a new fuel pump which repaired the no start complaint. Customer never informed us of a vibration issue, or that she wanted anything inspected further. We repaired what was wrong with the vehicle and what she requested us to repair. We test drove the vehicle to verify the repair on a road at 30 mph. Customer was already complaining about the price of the fuel pump repair, and since she did not request us to inspect the vehicle, we did not go any further."

These guys did a valve adjustment (NOT easy on this car) and it drove MUCH better. The plug was still fouling so they took the engine down to the head and found serious issues to where only an engine rebuilt would get me fixed. Here is where I became worried. Building an engine for this car is a big job and finding parts is nigh impossible. These guys not only did a complete rebuild of the engine but they replaced the transmission with a rebuilt unit I had on a shelf. I have since driven the car for 300+ miles and am very pleased with the work and attention to detail. These days it's hard to find a good shop to fix anything but to find one willing to mess with such an old car and be top tier in service and honesty is gang busters in my book. Plus- these guys are real good o'l Alabama boys, makes the entire experience very pleasant. I would recommend them to anyone with any type of issue- I'm sold.

I had been dealing with this problem for some time and had computer analyses of the problem done twice and recommended service done. The problem persisted. I had to keep one foot on my accelerator when stopped in traffic so the engine wouldn't die. The problem had gotten gradually worse and was most awful when the car was cold. I called and asked if I could bring it in one day and leave it for them to work on the following morning without it having been driven. I was able to arrange for drop off the next day. The following morning they called to tell me what they had determined so far, what they believed it needed, and a price estimate. I told them to go ahead and do it, with the understanding that if they ran into anything else, they would contact me again. The next phone call was that afternoon. They had completed the work and my car was ready for pickup. They were open until six pm so I was able to get it after work that evening. It was a very good experience. Generally, I detest having to deal with anything to do with my car other than driving and putting in gas. Now, I certainly hope I don't need them again anytime soon. But if I do, I won't hesitate to go to Kevin's again. They were very nice people and my car is running great!
