.My long time doctor, Dr. Jerry Graham sold his practice Crestwood Family Practice with Dr. Amber
Johnson Whitfield in his stead.
To say it was a debacle would be an understatement. When signing up for a physical I stated that two visits were
not possible and that I could not do a "meet and greet". I needed to get a physical and asked for this. After several minutes on hold, the receptionist came back and said "okay" and scheduled my appointment. This is because I am a travelling consultant. After filling out several sheets of new patient paperwork and waiting for over 1/2 an hour, I was brought back for another round of medical history question. I then met with Dr. Whitfield who proceeded to ask me if I needed any medications refilled. After I told her the only medication I was on she told me that she would not refill and that I could only get another (untested with me) medication. I expressed my concern that most other medications of this class have caused serious issues (such as psychosis), she seemed unphased and insisted on prescribing me an alternative.
She then told me that I needed to get a pap smear, despite the fact that I had a full abdominal hysterectomy
over 7 years ago. When I asked if it was covered by insurance her response was "I'm sure I can find some cervical cells to get insurance to cover it." She then proceeded to listen to my chest and send me on my way. When
questioned about my physical, she said, "Oh you have to schedule that". I then asked what this visit was going to be coded on, her response was "for your continuing and recommended care." Dr. Whitfield neither looked at my care nor did she do anything to make me feel better as a patient or a consumer. I find her behavior unethical and borderline fraudulent and as such, paint Crestwood Family Practice with the same brush.
