Elleven Salon

I just moved to Huntsville/Madison area August 1, 2014. I needed a color service done so I searched the web and Amgies list for reviews, cost and types of service the salons in the area offer. I decided to give "Elleven" salon a try. My stylist in Baltimore gave me the formula she used on my hair for the hair colors she used (Ashe blonde lowlight - light blonde highlight). I gave the stylist the formula of colors my stylist from Baltimore used. - however, the formula "Jennie" used was nothing like the colors I provided her. When Jennie finished, I had light brownish red lowlight and a few highlights. In my opinion, It looked awful. I asked her what happened to the formula I gave her and she said she thought "warmer" shades would be best on me. I disagree and I did not ask for warm colors! I've had stylists use warm colors before. It is my opinion they use warm colors because they fear the Ashe colors might come out greenish. And it can if not processed correctly. I was very disappointed. Now that my hair is growing out, it looks terrible. I've never had such dark roots as I do now. And it has two shades of dark color. Ashe blonde, red brown, then blonde - definitely not attractive. My previous stylist did a great job highlighting/low lighting in a way that I never had roots. She matched the lowlight color to my natural color and added very thin blonde highlights all over; leaving underneath darker (I have fine, see-thru hair) - this helps to remedy that. Ultimately what really threw me for a loop and shock was the price....$365 not including tip! I was about to drop to the floor! I thought my husband would have a fit, to say the least. I am looking for work here but still nothing has come up . We are not poor and do quite well with just his income, but really, $365 for highlight & lowlight, trimmed ends and a blow dry? It's ridiculously expensive. I still haven't gotten over that. That price "did not" include tip The color that was so-so is one thing but the price, well - that's a car payment. I only paid $160 for the same service in Baltimore at a high class salon offering wine · hor dourves , coffee and pastries! And $160 got me the cut and color that looked great! I can't and won't go back there...I would be foolish to do so. I cannot recommend Elleven salon with good conscious. If you are use to throwing your money away, well then...go ahead and make your appointment.

This salon is fantastic. I recently(about a year ago now) moved from Florida and leaving a good stylist is always hard. I was nervous about finding another good place that wasn't going to bleach out all my hair when doing foils (yes- this has actually happened to me). I read reviews on yahoo and yelp (before getting angies list) and I decided to give this salon a try.

I was not disappointed! Not only did my stylist (Rachel H) do an outstanding job, everyone there was super friendly. I felt spoiled. they offer wine! It is a little expensive, but I feel like I am paying for outstanding service and a great experience. I would recommend this salon to everyone!

It went okay, exept the stylist preferred to color and cut my hair the way she wanted even after I said I didn't think I wanted to color my hair anymore. She is very good, just didn't listen to what I wanted.

I arrived at my appointment on time, and was greeted by the staff. The facility was very nice, and they had refreshments for the customers. I was asked to fill out some minimal paperwork concerning my hair type, styling products used, styling appliances used, color history, ease of styling my own hair at home, etc. I thought it was great that they asked these questions and took the information into consideration. I had to wait about 20 minutes, which isn't bad for a salon. Once my stylist, Jennifer, called me back she did an in depth consultation to find out what I wanted done to my hair. As she colored, cut and styled my hair she took the time to explain what she was doing and how I could achieve the same look at home. She took the time to make sure I didn't have any loose cut hair on my neck and face after she was done. She suggested great styling products, but she wasn't pushy about it. Overall, I had a fantastic experience at this salon, and I booked my next appointment before I left. I will confidently recommend Elleven Salon to anyone wanting a great hair cut and/or color treatment.

Great hair cut and style. Shampoo and scalp massage was wonderful. They were running about 20 minutes behind schedule. The most I've paid for a man's cut, but the experience and result were the best I've ever had. In this case I did get what I paid for. Price included tip.
