I had a number of different contractors provide an estimate and chose C&K because of their professionalism and the level of detail provided in the estimate. Roof was installed a little over 2 weeks after signing the contract. Workers showed up on time, were polite, and completed the job quickly and thoroughly. Would highly recommend.

Great product for the best price around. Their price let me get the nicer architecture shingles for what others were charging for the cheaper ones. Everything was cleaned up at the end of each day. They took a little longer than my neighbor's roofer, but the quality of the work was definitely worth it.

I can not say enough good things about C and K roofing! Beth and Jim go above and beyond to make sure you are satisfied with the work being done. They are seriously some of the nicest people I have ever met! C and K replaced our roof, did interior repairs, and painted 4 rooms in our home. They didn’t rush through the repairs and took the time to make sure everything was done right. We were never pressured during the entire process. Beth checked in often to make sure the process was going smoothly and that we were satisfied. She was always a phone call away with any concerns or questions I had. By the end of the process Beth and Jim no longer felt like strangers but long time friends. We will always use them with any work we may need done in the future and would definitely recommend them. We interviewed several roofing companies before deciding on C & K. My husband really loved Jim and felt that he would do good work. My husband was right! The roof is beautiful and the cost was very competitive. We also had them do vinyl siding and windows. The crew that did the siding went above and beyond and the trim work under the eaves and around doors etc. looks amazing! We love our new windows so much, we can't decide what window treatments to use since we want them to show inside the house. Also, they cleaned up EVERYTHING! They went around the house with a metal detector and picked up nails, screws, etc. when they were done. If you are looking for dependable, above and beyond, high quality work, call C & K. You won't be disappointed! You'll love the work they do and the special people you'll meet; Jim, Beth, Sarah, Gary and many more!

Wanted me to pay them again to fix what they charged me for the first time. My insurance company (State Farm) said their work was shoddy and would not allow me to use them. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY THEY ARE VERY DISHONEST!

The ridge vent was not installed properly. I refused to pay until they came back and installed it correctly. The owner cussed me out over the phone and claimed that I was trying to avoid paying my bill. I politely invited him to come over and look at the work for himself because it was blatantly obvious the work was done wrong. He refused and continued insisting that I was trying to avoid paying the bill. They eventually came out and re-installed the ridge vent correctly and I paid the bill. I would never hire this company again.

Discovered a leak in living room ceiling and called Cand K and another company for estimates. One company came and gave us a lower estimate but we felt it was just a "bandaid" for the problem. Cand K estimated a little more extensive repair but one that we felt would be better in the long run. Jeff did a thorough estimate to include pictures he took while on the roof looking at the repair to be done. We decided to have Cand K do the repair and a date was set. Jeff was prompt, thorough, knowledgeable and easy to work with. We would not hesitate to call again, and as a matter of fact, just today we discovered a small leak on our front porch which we called Cand K and asked for another estimate.

We found them on Angie's List. It took them forever to do it. The only reason we got them was because, they had done our roof in the past and they did a really good job on our roof.

and i would have to agree with that as i watched the workers and did not see a lot of waste. I traveled the next week and when i returned the down spots had been replaced and all was good.
i have since received 2 calls from Rob to verify that i was happy with everything, which i am. Even though i worked with 3 different individuals during this process, Rob kept in constant contact with me and all 3 of them (Rob, Josh, and Mark) worked very well together as a team.

This was a very difficult review for me. And I was really torn about the letter grade I would give the job. Brandon and Jason came out and did an estimate for us. They were very nice and professional and I was very pleased with both of them. I think they went above and beyond the kindness level that you receive from salespeople in general. They were also new to the company. I have no problem working with new sales people, everyone has to start somewhere. As long as the people doing the work know what they are doing. And I am pleased with the job itself. My roof looks great. It was what happened after the roof was complete that was the problem. We had them price the roof, gutters and siding. Apparently the roof estimate was fine but the siding and gutter one was not. Since we had chosen the company based on the total package and are now using someone else for the other work. I did not feel I could give them an A. I was given an estimate for the job, we all agreed on a price and I signed the work orders. After the work was done on the roof, I got a call from Jason saying there was a problem with the siding estimate and that his manager Marc wanted to meet with me. After we met together and went over what I had requested vs what they said they priced, I was told it would be an additional 1000.00 for the work to be completed. This did not sit well with me as you can imagine. Marc was to work on the estimate and see what he could do and call me back the next the day. I have yet to hear back from him. I have received several calls from Jason asking if we were happy with the roof work and of course wanting payment for the roof job, also apologizing for the mix up and telling us that Marc was working on the adjusted estimate. But nothing from Marc. We have since decided just to go another direction with the remaining repairs. The way that Marc handled the issue and did not follow through on the things he said he would do to help with the situation. Just makes me a bit leery of using them for the rest of the work. Another thing that happened was regarding the referral fee they pay if you get another job for them. I referred another person to them they called the company and they got the job. They will not pay me the fee however because she did not call my representative directly. Even though the card saying they offer this referral fee says nothing about having to call a particular person. So I thought that was a bit unprofessional as well. As I said Brandon and Jason were great and if you choose to call this company ask for them. But as a manager I think Marc could have set a better example of how to handle customers for his trainees. The lower grades and the decision to say no to using them again came from the things that happened after their manager was brought in. Perhaps a way to avoid this type issue in the future would be for the company to send a trained employee out with all new hires for the first few weeks. That might have kept this issue from ever becoming an issue in the first place.

This went well. The contractor met with the adjustor and to assist in reviewing the damage to the roof. This is always helpful as they know the issues with the roof. The roof looks great and the whole process was quick. Adjustor met with us and contractor on a Friday and the roof was on the house Wednesday. They had some minor additional work on an out building that was completed the next day. Would definately recommend this contractor.

We were the second home they came to in our subdivision, and the one with the most damage. It took them over 2 months to get back to our home! They did several other jobs in the neighborhood, (however, have yet to explain the delay on ours)! They were to start on June 27th. We waited for several days with no notification or explanation when they didn't show up. After finally showing up on July 1st, they stated their truck was seized the day before (explanation given to us by the Salesman and Job Supervisor). We were promised the job would be completed that day! It took 3 days to do the job, and in fact they have not completed the touch up work.... At one point during the day, I had 9 men " ASLEEP" IN MY FRONTYARD FOR 2 1/2 HOURS! I COULDN'T COMPLAIN TO ANYONE ABOUT IT, BECAUSE THE JOB MANAGER WAS ASLEEP IN HIS TRUCK! The Company Owner seems to have no problem with them sleeping under his Company sign.
I had plants smashed, platters knocked over, downspouts smashed, but the worst thing they did was put nails through our air conditioner's copper, causing several thousand dollars damage! The Owner of C & K roofing, now claims he has a disclaimer, (on the backside of their contract), that protects him from liability to property he works on. Then they revised our bill stating they shorted the materials and charged us an additional $1,617.00 for the materials.
I found the owner and his father to be very hard to deal with. They were infact confrontational when I asked about the men sleeping in my yard, (when we tried to point out the damage to the air conditioner), as well as the other damage.

Prior to that day they brought shingle samples. I was able to select a shingle that matched very closely to the original.
They gave me a day when they planned to come, but could not because of other jobs to finish. Ended up comming promptly a few days later. They did call the day before they came. They even replaced a damaged shingle on the small shed in the back yard. They cleaned up old shingles.

I met sales reps at the 2010 Home Building & Remodeling show at the VB center in Huntsville. They were pleasant and made an appointment for me with their estimator, Keith Fuson. Keith came out, provided an estimate, and was very affable and polite. He said they'd have a crew of 10+ out to do the work and told a story about a job he'd watched where the old roof came off in under 15 minutes (implying the big size and therefore, quick speed of the crew). We signed. Said they take no draw until the work is complete and they accept cash, check, MO, and CC (no mention of convenience fee for CC).
Roofing being dependent on the weather, I understand that they can't give you a day and stick to it and that short notice is required. Got a call one evening from the foreman and was asked if they could start the next morning at 7am. Call the boss and let him know I'm taking a vacation day tomorrow. 7am comes and goes. I call the superintendent at 8am and ask where the crew was and was told they were "finishing something up real quick" and would be over in 2 hours. 10am comes and goes. I call at 10:15am and get the same response. They show up a bit after noon. One super, 1 non-working foreman (and interpreter) and 4 men set up and go to work. I ask, and the super says this is the whole crew. Brushes off my question about the much larger crew as "something the salesmen say". Crew gets to work. They work hard. Until 5pm. Then they pack it in for the day and the interpreter says they'll be back at 7am. 7am comes and goes. Calls at 715a and 730a go unanswered. Call returned at 8am and I am assured that they're just "finishing another job up real quick" and that they'd be there in 2 hours. 10am comes and goes. Call goes unanswered. They show up at 11am, finish up, and pack it in.
Roof looks good. Cleanup went OK, but we still find nails and pieces of the plastic they wrap shingles with. Super asks for a check. I tell him I'm going to use the CC. I call into the office to give them the info and a 4% (I think. Maybe 3.5%) is mentioned at this point. I protest that this is the first it's been mentioned and wouldn't it have been polite for the salesman to point this out. It's after 5p (can't go get $6500 from the ATM), so I use the CC. 3.5-4% on $6500 isn't huge, but it's not pocket change and it was just enough to tip the scale and p*** me off to the point that I won't be using this company again. The work went OK (shingles correctly laid and flashed), color looks good with the brick, and the small hispanic crew worked hard, but the intangibles (9 total hours late over a 2 day job, the *ahem* flexible-with-the-truth salesman, and the surprise ~$250 "convenience fee") make me not want to use this company again. Now that I write it that way, I see that everything to do with the actual family-owned company went poorly and everything that had to do with the contracted crew (the actual physical work itself) went well. I'll just hire them directly next time.
UPDATE: After seeing the owner's response to my review, I feel compelled to respond.
"Number one we always give our customers cash discounts and if they use a credit card to pay then they have to pay the difference between the two."
I understand cash discounts. The operative word is discount here. The estimate does not refer to a method of payment, only that all forms are accepted. If the owner has a "cash discount", then that means the quoted price is good for any listed acceptable form of payment and a discount is offered for cash specifically.
"We have to schedule all work around the bad weather and sometimes that becomes difficult and a little inconvient for everyone. If the member would have called us we could have addressed these issues."
As mentioned in the review, I did call. Repeatedly. And I was put off and lied to. I don't care if you're late. I care that you are considerate enough to call and let me know, especially when the appointment was made the night before. Given that this happened on consecutive days and that your crew was late for more hours than it took to do the job, I'm thinking this isn't just circumstantial.

C&K showed up on time with eight (8) workers, all very polite and professional. I was impressed with the installation and cleanup of the area, and how they solved a problem that was unknown at the time of the original estimate and actually corrected that also. The gutters were installed the next day, however, after a rainstorm, I noticed that there was some slight leaking behind the gutters. They came out and found the drip edge to be installed at the wrong angle and corrected that. Hasn't been enough rain since to determine if that fixed the problem, however, I have confidence that it did.

C&K was recommended by a colleague, and Mr. Keith Fusion, came over for the estimate. He came in significantly less than the other two estimates we received. Work was done on time, at slightly less than estimate and the cleanup was superb. Had a very minor leak afterwards and the response was impressive. We are having a roof done on one of our rentals, and we are going to let them do the work.

Overall it was a great experience. They showed up on time, did what we asked them, and picked up great. The foreman took extra time to show my husband around and answer his questions. Even told us how to buy the mushroom vents on our own for them to install since it would be cheaper that way. Only hitch was they wired in one of the mushroom vents backwards, but my husband easily fixed that. We did not pay for the roof since the previous sellers had already contracted for the roof replacement prior to our buying the house. Recommended them to a friend who also had a good experience, although he said their estimate was way higher than the others.

Never returned to make minor fixes to flashing. Never dropped of spare bundle of shingles as promised. Did repair gutter damaged during work. Did return to fix ridge vent 2 years later but never dropped off spare bundle of shingles as promised again. Called 7 times trying to get a bundle dropped off and gave up and bought a bundle myself at home depot. I know sections are missing felt and question how many more are missing felt I don't know about.

The roof looks great. They did a good job. Blake was responsive and very easy to work with. It took them 3 days as they had predicted. They arrived on time and the crew was very polite. They did a pretty good job cleaning up.
