On April 23, 2014 we entered into a Cost Plus Price Contract with Build with Wilson, owner Joel Wilson, for a major remodeling job. We were promised total backup for the costs which we were to be charged along with a 20% markup. Despite many requests to obtain backup it was not provided. The owner’s manner was unprofessional and resulted in angry and inappropriate responses from him. He told us items were completed or in production when they were not. He billed us far more than his estimate, and earlier than appropriate. We fired him halfway through the project and had to complete it ourselves. He has continued to break promises to provide us with documentation to substantiate his bills. We are still attempting to get Mr. Wilson to pay us what we have been overcharged.

Responded very quickly. Very professional. Had the right equipment to take care of the job. Prices reasonable. Would highly recommend.

A car crashed into the front of my brick house at the corner of the double garage. Brick was destroyed at the point of impact. Brick was also cracked across the front of the garage, all the way down the side of the garage and around to the back of the house. The house is over 30 years old and my primary concern was matching the repaired brick and mortar to the rest of the house.

The brick on the house is a mixture of 3 or 4 different bricks. The people at Build With Wilson proposed removing all of the brick from the front, side and back of the garage and save as much as possible of the old brick. The old brick was used on 100% of the front of the house for a guaranteed match. Wilson then used their sources to locate an old brick to mix in with the remaining brick taken from the house. The brick they located matched perfectly and was used to complete the remaining brick work.

They assured me that matching the mortar was not going to be a problem. And they were right. The result was simply beautiful. The brick and mortar work was a perfect match. You cannot tell anything ever happened to my house except that it looks even better than before since the garage doors had to be replaced and the inside of the garage had to be completely re-paneled. In fact, everything looked so good I had them paint the rest of my house a few months later. Again, they did a first rate job.

To say I was concerned how this was going to turn out when the damage first occurred is a major understatement. Honestly, I didn’t think it could be done without some sign of repair. The people at Wilson understood my concerns and put in the extra effort to make this look right. We couldn’t be happier with their work.

He was punctual and kept us informed of each step in the process and who would be coming when to do what.  He regularly inspected the work to ensure that everything was done correctly and that needed corrections were made without additional costs.

We had some design ideas of our own, but he participated with us in coming up with the desired look and features.  His staff, workers and subcontractors were very courteous, worked hard, and were knowledgeable in their areas, with the exception of an electrical subcontractor who made a number of errors.  They replaced him with a very qualified electrician and didn't charge for the corrections.

When they were bringing the very heavy cast iron tub into the house (5 men had to carry it), they let it touch the hall floor and scratch it.  No problem.  When everything in the bathroom was finished, they had excellent floor workers repair the hall floor, which included sanding and refinishing the entire hall hardwood floor at no cost to us. 

Everyone wanted to be sure that we were pleased with the work as it progressed and with the finished product.

The only downside to the project was the cost.  We elected to go with a cost type contract and should have used a fixed price contract so we would know from the beginning what to expect.  We chose quality items for the remodel and cost was considerably more than what we had thought.  Build With Wilson did help us from their side as much as they could and we appreciate that.
