I had to wait a couple of hours and really didn't mind since I went on a Monday. The service was great except when I got home, my husband noticed I had a lug nut missing on my right rear tire. After looking at it, he went to buy me one and it would not go on because the bolt was stripped. He had to replace it. I didn't call back to say anything, my husband said he would but never got around to it. I asked my wheels to be tightened by hand so my rotors would not get warped by the hand held Jack that puts the bolts on. Other than that experience, the staff was friendly, but I feel whoever did the work should've known what happened.

In November/December , 2013, Brian’s Tire and Service’s worked on my 1985 Vanagon. The van had some wiring issues and the engine needed to be tuned. The point of contact at this shop is Mr. Ray Barnett. Mr. Joe Putt is the mechanic that worked on the van.
Mr. Barnett charged me $724.50 to “Repair Wiring to Wipers and Heater Blowers” . He said the cost of the labor was $12/hour. So, the time spend on labor at that rate means Mr. Putt worked on the wiring for 90.6 hours or 8 days if he worked 8 hours per day. It is difficult to understand why it took so long for a wiring problem involving just the heater blowers and wipers. I can see where it might take a day. He also wrote on the invoice that he replaced the ignition switch, claiming it was bad. I had never had problems with the ignition switch..
After the so called wiring repair, as I was driving home at night from the shop, the entire electrical system failed! This put me in a very dangerous situation. Luckily, I was close to home and the street lights were bright enough for me to find my home.. Mr. Barnett told me Mr. Putt, the mechanic, attached a wire incorrectly. After that. two new problems developed in the area where the ignition switch was replaced. The turn signals did not work properly and the horn would go off without touching it. He subsequently, charged me $57.50 to fix this but since he worked on this area earlier, he should not have charged me for problems he created.
I returned the van to his shop to address the turn signal/horn issues and to tune the engine. Mr. Putt told me the engine was running normally. But it was not! I picked up the van 28 Feb, and as was driving home, the engine would stall, once again, putting me in very dangerous situations with respect to traffic.
On 2 Mar, I wrote Mr. Barnett the following email:
I 'm very frustrated with Joe's work and I don't want him to work on the van anymore. I can't understand why it took him 8 days to fix the wiring. And then the van suffered total electrical failure, which was dangerous! And why was there a turn signal /horn problems after he had worked on that area. He reported to you that the Zetec engine was repaired and running normally. But it is not repaired and running normally. Why did he not thoroughly test drive the van? That engine should never had been turned over to me in that condition....stalling! It was very dangerous!!
I think you will agree I have been very patient.
Would you be open to hiring another mechanic to fix the Zetec engine at no cost to me? It needs to be a mechanic very familiar with Zetec I think this is fair. And I would appreciate it.
I hope to hear from you by 5 March.
Respectfully yours
Jon

This is his reply of 4 March:
I am not open to hiring anyone to work on your project. It is a VW van that has been customized by another shop out of state. Per your request we tried to make the wiring work for you. We billed you for time spent. We are respectfully finished. Good luck with your project.

Mr. Barnett is very familiar with my van., He willing worked on my van. And repairs were either not done, or were unnecessary, or were not done properly.
I have been very patient with Mr. Barnett, giving him many chances to correct his mistakes. But as you can read from his email, he is unwilling to correct those mistakes ("We are respectfully finished", he writes). Note also, he writes that “we tried to make the wiring work for you”, admitting he did not repair the wiring He charged me $724.50 for this.
In conclusion, the engine was tuned wrongly, the electrical problem may not have been done properly, it appears the repair shop submitted charges for work that was not done, and charges for repairing issues they created.
At this point, I am afraid to drive the van. I will have to pay someone else to make the repairs.

I delivered truck to Brian's subsequent to repair work at transmission shop. Symptoms indicated possible coolant system affecting condition of transmission coolant system. Brian's conducted pressure test on coolant system and discovered several small leaks in the radiator. Also the hoses were old worn and needed repair. They suggested and which I agreed that thermostat should be replaced too.
Don in the service department contacted me the next day to brief on test results with probable fixes. I approved and was told it would be ready Monday evening as at the time it was Friday afternoon late. Don also suggested I come by prior to work being done so they could show me what and why said items should be replaced rather than sealed soldered or patched. I have done business with Brian's on numerous occasions and that has been par for them to illustrate and inform me of the parts inoperability and its need for repair.
Don contacted me as promised with repair work completed on Monday afternoon. I could not retrieve until Tuesday but did so and drove it home. The truck drove great and handled great with no problems in transmission shifting or overheating. Hopefully the issues are fixed now.
I have taken five to six vehicles to Brian's and have received excellent, friendly, competent and fair service. Vehicle repairs have been accurate every time at a reasonable price. Don is service rep I deal with each time. He is very knowledgeable with a positive attitude.
The mechanics who work on my vehicles are always glad to show the work they did and what was damage or worn out that needed to be replaced.
There are many shops that seem unconcerned with their work product reputation, so it is necessary for us to brag on those that do. My experience has been that Brian's intention is to provide quality work and is well aware that customer service ensures jobs.

It went extremely well. Brian ordered the tires for my car and it was significantly less than the dealership was going to
charge me for 4 new tires. They are also so very nice and accommodating. I have been going to Brians's for years and
he is always very honest. He has told me I did not need tires that I still have time on the ones I have or he has said I need
them replaced. He is not just after a sale. It's great to know that integrity and customer service is still important to Brian's
Tire and Service.

The tires on my car were slashed overnight while sitting in my driveway. I called around a few places and after speaking with Don at Brian's Tire and Service I decided to go with them. By the time I had made this decision it was already after noon. They sent a tow truck to my house, had the vehicle brought to their shop, and put four new tires on it with lifetime rotate and balance and road side hazard. They also checked the vehicle alignment and fixed that. They did not charge more than they quoted and did an excellent job. The car was ready by the end of the day. I could not be more pleased. There were a lot of cars in the shop being worked on and their reputation seems to preceed them. I beleive I have found a mechanic that I can trust and rely on.

I was having car troubles, so after obtaining a recommendation for Brian's, I went in and told them what the symptoms of my car were. These were simple symptoms. After completing $600 of work without asking me beforehand, they presented me a bill. After the first receipt was given where it should be written where the problem was, it was left empty; there was nothing written. After consulting the jeep dealership, turns out, the mechanic performed preventative type maintenance all at once, but all of that wasn't necessary all at once. After they finally "fixed" the problem, my car broke down in the middle of an interstate. Apparently the part that the mechanic installed had melted. After all of this, we had the car towed to the jeep dealership and after verbally telling the mechanic the symptoms of the car, he was able to know exactly what was wrong with the car. Brian's auto service finally installed the correct part to fix the issue I had to beginwith, a month later. They weren't willing to compromise or resolve this issue. We ended up having to take legal action with this auto service company, along with getting the BBB involved as well.

I've used this auto service company at least ten times for auto service work. Brian, the owner, has a great reputation in this town. He's very courteous and knowledgable. He has more than once transported me to a place I needed to go when my car was getting fixed at his shop. While I lived in Nashville, I would drive up to his shop to get my vehicle fixed. My dad took his vehicles to Brian's shop as well, and that's where I got the recommendation from. He always let me know how much the repairs would cost before actually doing the repair. I've never had problems with them, but my partner has. That's why I wouldn't use this company/provider again in the future.

They did several things for me. I had several older cars that had engine problems. They were able to identify and fix the problem. I think they are very honest. They didn’t take advantage of me. I had one issue where I was having problems with the engine and it wasn’t working. They took it out and drove it around. They weren’t able to find the problem, but the guy gave me his personal number so that I could call him anytime of the day or night. It really impressed me. I would use them again in the future.

I feel we have been treated fairly and honestly for years. They've advised us on when to keep a car and when to put it down. When they couldn't do the work they sent us to competent businesses ( eg body repair, really tough electrical problems). They'll drop me off at work if I have to leave a car. They just seem to be good people - they may not tell you this but they support a local thrift shop whose proceeds help local single moms. They fixed a problem on a foreign car that a local specialist had worked on at least twice before. I can recommend them to anyone for 80 -90% of your car problems. Almost forgot - the Brian's Buddy program - you pay a yearly fee then get a discount on future expenses - has more than paid for itself. ( We do tend to have clunkers.)
