It was not a pleasant experience. Intitially we were comfortable hiring Bajito La Mano because his prompt response, eagerness to start, and fair price. The day of the project he arrived on time with himself and two others. He brought a woman who just stood and watched while the other worker completed majority of the work. He took my husband to home depot for us to purchase supplies needed to complete the project. He asked my husband if we wanted caulk around the stairs or quarter round. We opted for caulk, because he told us it was up to us on how we wanted it to look. We explicitly asked him if it would be okay to just use caulk and he said, yes. Near completion of the project, he asked us to inspect the stairs. We found that there were many issues. There was gapping, overhang, loose stair caps, protruding nails, caulk placed haphazardly, and damage to the spindles/existing structure. As we pointed out the issues, he made an effort to fix them, but often rebuttaled that it would be fine with paint, more caulk, or if we stopped walking on the freshly laid steps. He seemed to be in a hurry to leave for the day, and said he would come back the following day to fix any remaining issues. That evening, as I was using the stairs, I slipped and almost tripped down, because one of the stair edges, what's coming off. The following day he did return, and I let him know what the issue was. He then told us that this wouldn't be a problem if we would have opted for the quarterround and how he thought we were just being cheap and not wanting to buy it in the first place. We explained to him that he told us that it was an aesthetic choice and that we were relying on him for his a professional opinion for safety. He initially agreed to lay the quarter round but was going to charge us $200 to do the work. We explained that we didn't think that this was fair since the job was not done right initially and was the same project. He continued to say that he would have to pay his workers and how he already paid the man $250 and the woman $200. After agreeing to fix the problem, he took my husband to home depot, and while there told him that we should pay them because we're rich. Saturday evening, I called Angi to begin the complaint process. The same evening I messaged him letting him know that I did not want to file a complaint, but wanted him to finish the work without charging us more. On Sunday, he called me in the morning to let me know that his worker would not be able to make it that day because he was with his family but would come Monday, I told him okay. Sunday afternoon, he called me fussing at me saying how he should've charged us more money for the job initially, saying that we should not complain because it was cheap. He continued to ask us for money to finish the job, negotiating for $100 for gas. I told him I still did not feel comfortable giving him more money. Then he negotiated $50 for gas and for us to buy the nails for his nail gun. We told him we would buy the nails, but would not pay him more money. He agreed and told us he would come on Monday. We've tried several times to get in contact with him, he has not responded and has left our text messages on read. The stairs pose a falling hazard because the caps shift as you step on them.

Deck or Porch - Build or Replace
Never in my life have I felt so outraged, and so disappointed with these people?s unprofessional work until I met these contractors. They will give you a bid on the first day. And every other day; they are begging for more money. They scammed me, and if they did it to me; they most definitely will do it to you. The project was half done; they left my roof exposed to the weather and took my money and ran. My handicap ramp is not level at all and installed rotted use wood to my addition to my front porch. They will never go by your design plan; it will be ignored and force you to there sketchy unprofessional to the lowest standard of workmanship. These contractors will literally only work 4 to 5 hours every day. It was never a full eight hours. The days they didn?t work they will never call you and notify you. I promise you to the best of my human existence, you will be very disappointed with these contractors if you so choose them. They do not accept credit cards. They rarely wanted to take my checks and I mostly had to give them cash on some occasions. At the end of all of this, I had to call the cops on them. They were threatening me and my spouse of ALS. One of the threats if I so choose to write a bad review on his company that he would end up, suing me for more money. As if he hasn?t already taken enough from us.
Response from Bajita La Mano
"These people asked me for a job and then they wanted more for the same price and they didn't want to pay me anymore and I can't work for free. They didn't pay me, they have no shame"
