Our retaining wall had been put in incorrectly and had settled, cracked and bowed. The 1st quote I got was for $50,000, yes, 50k! I was told they would have to take out the entire wall and basically take out my entire backyard and then put it back. I don't have 50 grand. Then I came across Ken with Dirt Cheap Escavating. He quoted me 18 grand, they got the engineers seal of approval, replaced only what was needed and only removed a 5' wide swath in the affected area. The workers were polite and respectful. We would definitely use them again!

They build a great wall at a reasonable price (not cheap, but reasonable). They built it in 2 Days. However, now I need landscaping because of all the excess rock and dirt and lumpy soil they left. That will likely cost me as much as the retaining wall did. I love the wall, but not worth the peripheral damage. I saw another post regarding peripheral damage they did and thought, well mine will not be like that. Well, I ignored it and now here we are too. Frustrating!!! Here is your 2nd warning to look elsewhere.

This company is very punctual when you set up an appointment and their work speak for itself.

Outstanding performance

I was having trouble getting a company to respond to my requests until I tried Home Advisor. I posted my needs and the same day, Kenneth from Dirt Cheap Excavation responded. He came out 2 days later to look at my yard and what I wanted done. He gave me options, choices and suggestions. I am extremely pleased with the results from Dirt Cheap Excavation. The part of my yard that they worked with resembles a park now. Thank you !

While they built a nice wall, the workers left bottles and trash in our yard. They also destroyed our decks and then wanted to charge as much as the wall to replace the deck. At first they cut a 3rd of the deck then they took down the entire deck after they decided they did not want to replace the third they tore down. When we decided on a reasonable replacement cost for the deck they told us 2 weeks, then at the end of 2 weeks the did not show up and told us another 2 weeks. So for a month we have not been able to exit our back door because it is on a second floor.Then when we started confirming what they were going to build, they were not going to give us a deck with access to the pool. They also destroyed our front yard and left piles of gravel in the front yard that i had to later vaccuum up and reseed. They tore down lighting and conduit that was in our back yard and tore down our gate and left our property unsecured for the same time. These things led to my low rating. i see others have left great reviews, but our experience was not the same. in the end we didnt trust that they would build us a deck that we would be happy with so we cancelled the deck build and have to find someone else to build our deck. If they did better after the job I probably would recommend them but they are not recommended unless you want to clean up their mess, reseed your yard and pay more money then you would expect with a professional team.

Excellent work and good customer service from the owner. The product used, GeoStone, is very expensive but looks nice.

Dirt Cheap Excavation was able to excavate our backyard to make the slope more manageable without the need for a retaining wall. The job was completed in one day and the price was affordable. They did a great job, we couldn't be happier!!

Came in & knocked it out when they said they would. The retaining wall I feel, will last our lifetime! Would recommend to anyone.
