A Ragland Topsoil And Landscaping LLC

Adam Ragland installed topsoil and sod in our back yard in May, 2021. The job was quite costly, $7,500.00. By July and August much of the topsoil and grass had washed away. I spoke with Mr.Ragland on August 18, 2021, to advise him of this problem. He said he would come by and look at the situation in a couple of days, and that the washing of the topsoil and grass was because of the rain we had received. Within days of speaking to him, we had an invasion of army worms that completely destroyed the remainder of the grass. Mr. Ragland never showed up. I asked him before he began the job if there was any possible way this lawn could fail, as I was hesitant to pay such an exorbitant price for the job. He advised me that keeping the lawn watered would be all that was required, which we did unfailingly. I realize army worms such as we experienced this year are not a very common occurrence; however, we would have appreciated his telling us that was a possibility. The fescue grass that he planted for us appears to be particularly susceptible to army worms. We had a fairly nice lawn for two months, and now we have nothing. We never received a follow-up after the job to inquire as to the success of the planting, and he never showed up after the telephone call in August. We would never use this company again and would not recommend them.

How did it go? It didn't. I called on a Tuesday and Adam was unsure of the weather for a Friday delivery and asked for me to call back on Thursday. I called Thursday afternoon and right after I reminded him of our conversation on Tuesday, he said he would call me back in a few minutes. Nothing. Well, it has been nearly 4 weeks since my first call. I have left subsequent messages and received absolutely no response. So I am going to rack this up as my job was too small or assume it was unimportant in some way to warrant a return call. I have moved on and purchased fill dirt from another supplier. No hard feelings towards Adam Ragland. It is a very busy time of year for landscapers and I am sure he has more work than he can properly manage. I just wish he would add "Some Jobs Are Too Small" to his advertising. However, I will not try to engage him again. Pity.

Well. Grass was also planted. It seems to be growing okay and the ground is level. No dips.

Not well. Called and left message and did not receive a return call.

We are using them again. They are doing a great job.
