J&C Mobile Car Wash, Construction and Lawn Care

Things went really well initially, the owner Jerry was friendly. I am on a fixed budget so I am flexible with the dates for lawn care. Prior to the July 4th holiday, the last week of June, I paid Jerry $35.00, the biweekly fee to cut our lawn. He advised he would come to cut our lawn that Monday. Jerry never showed, when a week went by, I drove by and that's when the excuses started. Every time he would flag me down and reassure me he was coming to cut the grass. We have called and spoken with this owner multiple occasions. This has gone on for 2 months now and he has never come back to cut our lawn. Mind you, in May, we had informed J&C that we were going to relocate and they were on board to continue providing services for our family once we had selected a new home. We ended up renewing our lease here, the company was too busy dodging us and not cutting our grass from late June, that we were unable to inform them we had stayed and would continue services. I have never experienced this before. I live by a honor system, if I have ever owed, I pay and with that honor system we paid for services that were never rendered. We called and spoke to Jerry again on August 21, 2017, he again said he would come. This time he stated he forgot and didn't recall taking payment and never cutting the grass. I am a Christian and I will pray for this owner. I will have to make peace with the fact that my money was taken and that the company has no intention on honoring their commitment to cut the lawn. It's not the dollar amount that really burns me, it's the fact that this has drawn out for weeks, and he continues to wave us down, knowing he has no intention on cutting our grass. We are looking into other lawn companies. Lessons learned, never pay for services up front, it leaves you with the opportunity to get burned. Always get a receipt, invoice and never pay in cash. I just want to share our experiences so we can help the next potential customer.
