Ikard Septic Tank Installations

Some of the value of this work is the advice that Mr. Ikard provided before even coming to the house. Based on his advice, we secured the permit and inspection. They arrived as scheduled and went right to work pumping the tank. The inspector changed some of the planning of the field lines and they quickly adjusted. They trenched across much of the back yard. They secured a final inspection and began covering their lines and sealing the tank. After spreading the excess dirt and power raking, the job was completed in 7 hours. Exactly as promised.

I had an alarm going off on my septic system which others didn?t want to come out to deal with.  Clayton came out the same day I called and took the time to see if he could figure out the problem.  He took his time and found that the problem was with some poor craftsmanship by the original installer.  He fixed the problem using quality products which should have been used originally.  He then took the time and cleaned out the filter and checked the rest of my system.  Clayton has earned all my future business, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a good septic company!  I wish I had called them 1st.

I called in the morning and had an appointment at 3 in the afternoon of the same day.  I checked the $450 price with some folks at work and it matched well with what others have paid. Their responsiveness is fantastic however they weren't there when the appointment time came. I began to get a bit anxious since I live on an oddly named street which is often misspelled. After about 30 minutes I called to see what was going on and found out the crew was still out on another job and would be by me when they were finished. A little after 4 I had a call from the main office - the crew was in the subdivision but couldn't find my street. I gave them directions then waited outside. A few minutes later they pulled into my street but stopped at the house accross from me. They had the wrong house number. We straightened that out and they came over to take care of the work. I showed them where I thought the cover for the septic tank is, and they took it from there. It took about an hour all together to dig out and open the cover, pump the tank and rinse down the sides, close the cover and fill in the hole, and clean up behind them.
Someone should have called to tell me they'd be late. And, they need to install a GPS in their truck or make sure someone has a smartphone with mapping. Other than that I have no issues with the work that was done or the way things were left. This is a good crew and if they're still around when I need the tank pumped again there's a good chance they'll be the ones I call.

Before I selected a company to pump out my septic tank, I consulted Angie’s List and reviewed septic tank pumping services. In addition to the comments I read on the businesses that pump septic tanks, I included these facts for selecting Ikard's Septic Tank Manufacturing and Sales Inc.

With newer residential septic tanks, it’s possible to use a shovel to access the tank’s lid. However, our septic tank was installed in 1983, is made of concrete, and is approximately 3 feet by 5 feet in size. Based on this information, Ikard’s knew that the lid would be heavy and in addition to the truck for pumping the septic tank, they also sent a mini excavator to dig up the area where the lid is, to lift the lid from the septic tank, and to reposition the lid after the septic tank was pumped.

They arrived 15 minutes ahead of the scheduled time, scoped out the work site, and based on my “I believe the septic tank is somewhere in this area” located the septic tank. From beginning to end, the job took about 90 minutes. I am pleased with their service.

If a mini excavator has to be used to dig up and remove your septic tank lid, after the tank has been pumped, the lid has been replaced and the dirt moved back onto the septic tank lid, be prepared for some yard restoration work. You’ll need to remove some rocks, spread about a cubic yard of topsoil, and plant some grass in the excavation area. If you have a newer septic tank that won’t require an excavator, just a few bags of topsoil and a small bag of grass seed should suffice just fine.

Clayton and his crew did an outstanding job installing our new septic field line system.
He was prompt courteous and efficient.
The county required that our new field lines be 20 inches or less below grade which was above the outlet from the septic tank. As a result, Clayton had to install a tank and pump to raise the effluent to the level of the field lines.
Clayton also changed our washer waste water lines to go into the septic tank and thru the system improving efficiency. He also added collars to the entry points on the tanks to ease access the next time the tank requires pumping. Adding the collars and adding access covers will reduce my costs later.
After the work was done and inspected by the county, Clayton backfilled the exposed lines and took great care to ensure that the yard was level.

Overall my experience with Ikard was good. I noticed my toilets were gugling and called them to pump my septic tank. I was quoted a price over the phone. The price seemed a little high to me, but I wasn't really in a position to argue because I needed it done. They came out the day I called. They pumped it quickly and explained the process to me. They were professional and nice. Overall it was more than worth the money.
