Mike with Sanctuary Woods did an amazing job on my kitchen hutch/office area. He came for a planning meeting and provided a rough draft drawing. When we hired him, he made an official plan of our project and required a deposit for half of the work and took one of my existing cabinet faces to help him match stain and design style. He quoted us a lead time of 4-6 weeks and completed the project within that time frame.
He pre-fabricated all the pieces in his shop and then did the final assembly all in one day, which included rerouting some electrical outlets and wiring the area for under cabinet lighting.
The finished project is beautiful and makes my existing cabinetry look shabby. If only I had the funds to redo my entire kitchen now!
I have a few additional small projects in mind for future work.

I called based on the good reviews I read on Angie's List, and my experience doing business with him was great! I am an Interior Decorator and had a client who I needed to order a custom vanity cabinet for. The previous cabinet company I had ordered a vanity from really dropped the ball on this project, so I was in desperate need of another cabinet maker quick to get the project done. Sanctuary Woods owner put other projects aside to take care of this within a week. I was tickled to say the least. His cabinet was great, and he was very easy to work with. Punctual, did what he said he would do and delivered on time as promised. Will definitely use again.Ma

Great!! It took a bit longer than expected, but the finished product was well worth the wait.

Mike took measurements during the interview and sketched some ideas right then, adding to my design and giving me other things to consider. We talked about various types of wood and pros and cons of each before I decided. He gave me a price quote and stuck to it, just adding the medallions I ordered. After meeting with me and my husband to review his detailed design, making a few adjustments, and answering a few questions we gave him the green light to get started. Mike did most of the work in his workshop; I went to see the progress twice. I also wanted to make sure the medallions for the arches would be the right size. Mike did a complete mock-up of the bookcases/shelves in his workshop for me to look at (very cool!), then he did the painting and re-assebled it all in our home a few weeks later. Mike and his son installed everything in 1 day, then came back to do touch-up and final painting.
Do monitor progress and stress your deadline if you have one (I did not)

I had been taken advantage of by another cabinet maker - complete took my money without finishing the job. This cabinet maker restored my hope that there are professionals in this profession. He provided beautiful cherry cabinet doors at the price quoted, delivered them when he said he would, and installed them beautifully.

He work with us on the design. He had positive design ideas. He built the island and then brought to our home and installed it. He was great to work with. He is in high demand, so scheduling is tight.

Excellent. Mike's extensive knowledge about human factors parameters, design criteria and colors was most helpful to us for making decisions about the design. He then made a very good sketch of the design, including dimensions. During the waiting period he called more than once to advise of the progress. His work included little touches, like rounding the sharp corners of the prefabricated wood block top. He has been more than willing to give advice and answer questions after the product is finished. We damaged the surface on one part. Mike looked in his record to determine the finish in the damaged area, he advised us on how to go about the repair and even brought over a sufficient amount of the finish to enable us to restore the surface.
