Lowes

Started out nice BUT....Ordered french doors for our sunroom and was disappointed that I couldn't have the full glass because we needed a dog door installed. The gentleman in the store was nice and showed us the dog doors available and helped us pick out the right size. (This required my daughter sending me pictures and me talking to the gentleman via phone because I am handicapped) When the french doors showed up, there was no dog door to be installed and the man who originally helped us was no longer there. Now I have no dog door and I can't even see out into my backyard from my chair. They insist that we need to pay for the dog door and having it installed even though we went to all of the trouble of coordinating it. We were having them put in a 6 ft vinyl fence in the back yard, but we told them to forget it We want someone dependable. I can now see why there are so many reviews about good sales people and poor management teams at Lowes. They lost a $7500 fence budget over the principle of a $130 dog door. Very Poor customer service and planning.

Husband wanted two Gladiator storage cabinets but Decatur store had only one - on clearance at $240. They called Guntersville store to check on their stock. They did; but the surprise is that they had it pulled and ready to purchase at the service desk by the time we drove up there. They even loaded it in the van for us. Although they wouldn't match the price of the Decatur store, their service was outstanding.

One of the people at the desks in the back helped me so much.  I got a lot of good, solid suggestions.  He helped me with windows, garage door openers, and shutters.  He searched and found me the correct shutters and sent them to the house.  He took time out to talk to me and discuss his recommendations.

I've done a number of floors myself and over the years. Lowe's work was perfection. Asolutely no flaws and after two years no problems. Not the cheapest but great peace of mind.

We haven?t gotten the work done yet. It is just getting processed. They were pretty professional, but very expensive. They were top notch in their responses, sales and so forth. I just didn?t like the price. We shopped at other places and found out that their prices were too high.

We went with Lowe's because we had bought appliances from them before. The price was as good as anyone else and the 12 months with no interest made it better. We had no problem in the store and received very good help. Unfortunately, after that everything went down hill. We bought our appliances late on a Thursday and received a call the following Tuesday. Our appliances were in and we could schedule delivery for the range and microwave. The dishwasher would be installed by a local plumber and would be scheduled separately. We scheduled delivery of the range and microwave for Thursday afternoon and I took off work the entire day. I had to cut our counters to fit the free-standing range since we were replacing a slide-in. When I hadn't heard from Lowe's by two in the afternoon, I called to see when the delivery would be made. I was informed that the microwave was not in, so the range had not been put out for delivery. They tried to call the home line once, but I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message. A message was left on my cell phone, which I had given as a backup. The message did not show up until later in the day though. I was told I might get the range that night some time if the delivery guy would go out again. Being upset, I called back a few minutes later to talk to a manager and explain the situation. I had already unhooked the previous range and microwave and wanted to get the range that day. He was very polite and I got the range by 4:30 that afternoon. Now I have to get a microwave and dishwasher. The dishwasher came without incident on the following Tuesday. The only problem with that is I was told it would be sooner than that originally. No big deal. Since I had not heard about the microwave, I called again. Conveniently, the microwave was coming in that night and I got it scheduled for delivery the next afternoon. It didn't come. Apparently there was a mix up, but I would be getting it the next morning. The next morning I get a call saying the delivery would be about 4 in the afternoon. The microwave actually came and I could install it and have a microwave again. Throughout the process, the Lowe's employees were very courteous, but I don't know why it was so hard to know what was in the store and how to deliver it. I'm sure our experience was the exception and not the rule, but with all the other choices, this will probably be the last large purchase we make at Lowe's.

Excellent customer service, superb installation, very accommodating to our schedule, finished job is perfect. Not the cheapest but a good value considering the reputation of Lowe's. I feel confident that they will be around for a while to honor warranties.
