Meyer Vacation Rentals

we rented 3 houses between July 8-12, 2020. The primary house is where we ate our meals together. Because we had family in from out of town we chose to eat meals together at The Flip Side house. Unfortunately, the dishwasher was broke and needed to be replaced. We know this because the Meyer repair person came right away. Sadly, he showed me an approved replacement order from late June! So, Meyers was aware of the issue and did not replace the dishwasher. Instead, they passed it on to me! When I wrote to notify them, they did write a letter of apology, but did not offer any compensation, rebate, or refund. Its one thing to have first time incident...things happen. Its an entirely different thing to know about a problem, not fix it, and pass it on to the next renters, all the while, taking money as if the property is in great condition. We will NOT use Meyers again! I would suggest you don't either, unless you like doing dishes on vacation!

I rented unit #102 at the Shoalwater Condos in Orange Beach Alabama. First off the location of the condo is perfect. It is on the first floor next to the pool with easy access to the beach. The condo condition itself is another story. When you go to the Meyer website and look at the pictures you can tell the condo needs updating but as long as everything works you think.....ok. Upon arrival at the condo you can tell right away it needs a lot of work. Here is a list of issues: -The closet doors are off the rails -Very poor lighting in the living area and bedrooms, there are ceiling fans but no lights on the fans -Dishwasher door is warped, hard to close, very old and poor quality -It took the refrigerator a day and a half to get cold, had to put perishables in cooler with ice until the temp came down in fridge -No access to pantry to store groceries, door was locked -Very limited utensils, hodge podge of plates, cups, glasses -Patio furniture is very poor quality, plastic, very flimsy -Cabinets and drawers in kitchen and bathrooms have no pulls on them, difficult to open -Door to the unit will not close on its own, have to push it closed for it to lock -Did not have an iron, Meyer brought one out promptly -Toilets need to be replaced, very easy to stop up, very poor flush -Mattress in master bedroom is old and uncomfortable, squeaks -TV in bedroom with twin beds doesn't work -Very old furniture throughout, uncomfortable chairs in living area -Basically the whole unit needs to be updated, repairs made, it's old I have been to Orange Beach many times and have rented condos at different places. This unit by far was in the worst condition of any I have rented in the $2000 plus price range per week. Again the location is great but the quality of the condo is very poor. The people at Meyer Reality were very nice. The check in and out was seamless. They brought an iron out right away when we called them. This would be an awesome condo if it was updated, repairs made, etc. Thank you
