From my perspective, the key to the effectiveness of a repair person is their ability to troubleshoot. Jason Smith of ClimaTemp is an excellent troubleshooter. He was called out after 4 visits by another local repair company. The other company had suggested that I replace the unit at a cost of between $5000 and $6000. Jason first found a bad relay in the air handler closet. The common wire had also been removed from the heat strips. Later, he found an orange AC reversing wire disconnected. Finally, on the topside heat pump, he found another orange AC reversing wire had been connected to the red hot wire. An absolutely incredible mess left by his competitor ... pictures attached. It's possible the relay was the issue all along. When the first AC company couldn't troubleshoot it, they may have disconnected and connected other components in the AC to heat reversing system trying to make it work. This is for a rental condo. I have advised the management company we use to call Jason Smith from ClimaTemp in the future. No one else is to touch the unit.

After much trouble in contact and getting someone to call me back with a quote, they were there on time and installed the next day.

I just use them because I initially contacted them when I had a problem. I think they are all about the same. I say that because I am from the north and usually when you have a maintenance contract with someone you get a little more than you do in the south. So I can't say they are any different.

Maintenance personnel have consistently been friendly and courteous, always cleaning up after themselves. There is some variation in style of work and emphasis from one visit to the next. We have not been able to arrange for the same person each time, but the net result has been most satisfactory. There are extra costs, at times, for replacement of mold prevention lamps and occasional repair work. Each of our three units has been replaced because of age, but they tend to run longer than normal life expectancy.

Climatemp serviced my parents' home's HVAC for years...and for years they had problems.  Last winter (Dec 2011) they supposedly did some major work on the duct work in the attic.  I went to visit my parents last May (2012) and the cooling system (split system) was not working.  Iwent into the attic and found a huge mess:  the ducts were split open in a few places, the plenum was pushed over to the side and cold air was gushing out.  (We could have slept in the attic, but not the guest rooms!)  Calls to them resulted in promises we would get a return call...never happened.  We switched companies and had to spend a bundle fixing the mess created by Climatemp.  I believe they took advantage of my parents' age and inability to check their supposed work.  Do not use this company if you need a trustworthy outfit.

They are very friendly and made several recommendations. They let us know there was a no interest program available to purchase the unit at another store. The guys that came out were always on time. I will most definitely use them in the future.

They are very responsive. We have had a couple of emergencies with the heat pump not heating in the winter, and not cooling in the summer. They were very responsive and came very quickly both times. They are very professional and very prompt.

I only had two concerns with the whole project. The first was, one of the workers spilled some liquid materials on my carpet near the area where they were installing the furnace. They tried to remove spilled material but it discolored an area of the carpet (about 6 inches square). The second situation is they had to come back and rerun some air ducts so that one bedroom would cool an heat to the level of the rest of the house. They worked with me well on fixing this problem.

Over all I am satisfied with results. I would recommend that in the future the company send out a follow up inspector to do a final check on each job.

They were very helpful. We only had one problem with them.

We have a service contract with them. They send people out who spend hours going through everything. They do what is expected, and they do it three times a year. There is a maintenance fee for the year. We chose them many years ago when we needed a new unit. Their price was very competitive. Our experience with them has been excellent. We haven't had any problems. I would definitely recommend them.

They did a good job. They are reliable. They know what they are talking about and know what they are doing. I would use them again in the future.
