Now the chimney is rusting out. I have called them 3 times over a period of 2 weeks to ask them to come take a look at it. However, they have not returned one call, so I am looking for someone to else to repair it. Even though the initial installation seemed great, I am very disappointed they will not return my call now that I am having a problem.

They were very honest. They had to come up with some innovative ideas on how to fit something in to make it work and still have good aesthetic results and they did an excellent job.

Two folks from Patch Adams Roofing came out and did a chimney sweep.
They are professional and nice folks. The service took them about 45
minutes. They gave me a quote for a new chase corner with a crossbreak
& drip edge for $495 which sounds fair. They told me they would call
back in the evening with a quote for a new piece of glass for the front
of the fireplace and I never did hear back from them. It's Monday so I
called their office and I haven't had any luck getting ahold of anyone
yet. When I made the appointment I called a few times and no one ever
seems to answer. Although, they will call you back if you leave a
message. Their receptionist is not all that friendly.

They came it and looked at my fire place cleaned it out. Checked the inside and outside and seal the outside first. They seal the outside and told me not to burn anything in my fire place until I had the fire place seal on the inside. I plan to call them soon and have them seal the inside.

They were awesome. The two guys that came over were super sweet. They were very hardworking. They were right on time. The price was exactly what I asked for. They were really professional. They were good. If the members find a coupon with a company like patch adams, they should go to angie's list first. They should make sure everything is okay with them.

Needed to have my chimney inspected and cleaned since we were getting some unusual odors the last time we had a fire. My wife called Patch and set up an appointment. They agreed to give us the "Groupon" price discount. They came out on schedule and cleaned and inspected. As far as we could tell they did a good job. However, they found some problems and assured me they would send us a formal estimate to review; this has never arrived (>5 weeks later). It was also not clear that they ever figured out why we were having the unusual odors or what we needed to do about it.

"A formal estimate was provided at the time of service explaining in detail what needed repair. What I remember about this appointment, which did not originate on Angie's List, was I gave an estimate to Mrs. [member name removed] and she was very nice and attentive as I explained the issues I found. When Mr. [member name removed] arrived at the end of the appointment, unfortunately after already providing Mrs. [member name removed] with an estimate, he was quite rude and dismissive regarding the items I identified. I was under the impression he wasn't concerned about having these problems corrected. In fact as I explained how one particular problem would cause water to drip on the firebox, he was arguing that wouldn't happen and at the same time Mrs. [member name removed] said she had recently heard this happening. I don't recall any discussion about "unusual" odors, but this can occur when a chimney is not cleaned annually such as was the case here. I could be wrong, but I believe I was told it had been at least seven years since the last cleaning. I think it is interesting he chose to place a poor review of our company on Angie's List when we gave them a discounted rate of $70 off our normal price; a price which is normally only offered to those who purchase a Groupon offer. I believe the real issue here is that the repairs necessary are expensive because a boom lift would be required to work on this chimney that is over 40' tall. As I left this appointment, I was not interested in Mr. [member name removed] hiring my company to do the work. We normally call to ask for a decision within two weeks of providing an estimate if the customer does not contact us first. I did not attempt to reach out to Mr. [member name removed] ; so what he says about me not following up with him is true. I never feel comfortable doing work for customers who erroneously believe negotiating a lower price requires being discourteous and condescending. I'd prefer to work with customers who can understand the value and need for the service we are providing. Had he called to approve the estimate, we would have followed through and completed the work; but I was not interested in pursuing this business relationship."

They were terrible at keeping appointments. We had a number of no-shows. When I first made the appointment they didn't show up and I had taken off from work. The second time he was there he said he would have it fixed in a week. Two weeks later he called and was going to give us a 15 minute notice and we were not home. So we made an appointment and again they didn't show up. We finally got everything done but they were very unreliable. One night I finally had the owner on the phone and told him how much I did not appreciate that they did not show up when they were supposed to. Then they wanted to finish something up and wanted to show up in the middle of day and I said that was not possible. There was something they needed to put in the fireplace but they did not have all the materials.

We had a job scheduled earlier in the day took longer than expected and I, as the owner, personally made a mistake because I failed to call to reschedule. We called that following Saturday to see if we could drop by to install the plate since I had a crew in your area. I apologized to member was for the missed appointment the previous week and explained to him it was my fault. I am sorry we never met so I could have had the opportunity to apologize to your personally for the missed appointment."

The contractor showed up on time and cleaned the chimney, as well as inspected the interior and exterior of the chimney. He found a whole in the chimney that needed to be patched, and recommended we install a flue valve to help with water penetration and heat loss. We agreed to the repairs and he said he would give us a call when he returned to the office. We waited about two weeks but never heard back. Call the office and was told that they had been without a receptionist for about a month, and that was why no one called to set up repairs. The lady on the phone was nice, but said she wasn't at her computer and would have to call me back. We've been wanting to get these repairs done quickly, and have now opted to go elsewhere.

I needed an expert opinion on the condition of my roof for my insurance company and I wanted my roof inspected for wear and tear, debris cleaned off and gutters checked. Brian with Patch Adams was extremely helpful , worked around my schedule and made my insurance company happy! His price was very reasonable compared to other companies. I was very pleased with the work done at my house by Patch Adams. They came on a routine visit to sweep the chimney, but found problems with the fireplace. The back wall of the porch fireplace was cracked, and the area where the fire box connects to the chimney pipe was rusted all of the way through. The sealer on my outside fireplace chimney had deteriorated and allowed water to seep down around the flue and rust it out. Since it was rusted all the way through, Mike Adams determined that the only safe way to repair it was to replace the fire box. They showed me the damage so I would be clear about the problem. I was very concerned that they would damage the brick façade during the installation of the new box. However that was a needless concern. The mortar did break in a couple of places where it connects to wall, but they were able to match up the mortar. They actually fixed some of the same area that was damaged by 'house settling' several years ago. In addition to installing the new outside firebox and chimney pipe, they also replaced the cracked panel in my inside fireplace. There is a small area on my porch roof where the shingles are not tight so I occasionally get some leakage on my porch when wind blows water under the shingles. They agreed to repair that for me, but it was already dark when they finished the fireplace; so they will return to do that on a different day. Brian and Chris were the two representatives that actually did the work at my house and I found them to be very professional.
I did rate everything with an A because I was completely satisfied with everything. Rating on cost was difficult because I don't really know what this type of work should cost. Based on the supplies (firebox, panel, paint, etc.) and the amount of time it took to do the work, it seemed like a fair price. The three different people that I dealt with left me with the impression that they are honest men. I will definitely refer my friends to them when they need fireplace work.

I needed a roof repair, Brian with Patch Adams was my hero! I had called several other roofing companies and he was the most considerate of my time. I needed some repair work from the leaks and repairs to the porch that he handled for me also. The price was in line with other estimates but the way he responded quickly to my calls and kept me posted on progress was far superior to other roofers I have dealt with. Not only did he not waste my time by not calling or not showing up, he saved me time and money with his recommendations. I highly recommend using this company!
