JD Handyman

He was on time and very polite and honest.

we have used JD for about 5 different projects since we moved into our new house. This is the first time I decided to rate him. We will never use anyone else. He can do almost anything.

JD arrived on time and completed the project 2 days ahead of schedule.

Great, showed up when said he would and did a great job

Investigated a leaking roof. Identified exactly what the problem was. Came prepared and did the work. I have not had any more problems with the area that was prepared. We are very pleased. Thanks, Joyce

I called JD early in the morning. My privacy fence gate had been rickety for several weeks and had finally completely come off the hinges. He answered immediately and agreed to come by late that afternoon to take a look and give me a price. He came on time, and even though it was freezing cold,very windy, and almost dark, he said he could fix it right then. He pointed out that the gate was actually on upside down and it fixed it satisfactorily in less than an hour. I will call JD again for handyman work.

All went smoothly.

JD was a wonderful find. He is friendly, flexible, and
focused. I had retired from teaching in Brooklyn, NY to share a house with my
mother, and there were times when we needed skilled hands to help us with some
of the refurbishing tasks. He did all kinds of jobs for us, including painting (bathrooms
and porch furniture), hanging wall art and a stained glass window, replacing
doors, assembling a new bed with heavy head and footboards, replacing rotted
wood on exterior window frames, assembling other furniture pieces, and too many
other small tasks to mention.  He made my
transition much easier, and I will continue to contact him for any other needs
that we might have. He is a very competent handyman.

Called him back to build a platform after having him build our deck.  Will use him again for any small jobs around the house.

He answered the phone when I called, and made an appointment to be there later that day to see what needed to be done.  He set a time for the next day, which he indeed kept promptly. Overall, a great experience!

I called JD and he came over that afternoon and looked the projects
over. He called me back with the estimate within an hour. After I gave
him the go ahead and the agreed up front money he told me when he would
start. He started on time and did a very good job. There were a couple
of things that we had not specifically discussed, such as putting some
extra support under one end of the deck, which was needed,  that he did
without me asking and without charging extra.  I am very satisfied with
his work and am already lining up the next project for him.
   JD is a really nice guy and is easy to work with.

Came one day after I phoned to give me a quote.  Started job the day after I called him to say I would like his help.

Jason came and gave me an estimate on the work to be performed and was back the next day to complete it.  He was on time, very professional and efficient.  He took down and trimmed a door that was scrubbing on the carpet, he fixed two ceiling fans that were wobbling and making noise by taking them down and starting over to make sure they were secure, he put door sweeps on two doors, fixed three other doors that were not shutting and latching properly, fixed a sliding glass closet door that had a large gap in it and he insulated a picture window.  I like the fact that he wants things to be fixed right the first time.  While he was here he gave me an estimate on some work I need done outside my home.  I feel the quality of work was very good and the price was fair.  It is hard to find someone who can come and do a lot of small jobs for one quoted price and finish in the time given.  I am very happy.  I will have J.D. Handyman do more work for me.

Jason Davis called me an came on time to give estimate on rebuilding my Deck. He was very professional and pricing was better than anyone else that I spoke with. Alot of the other's on the list never even returned my calls. After agreeing to the price and payment, Jason showed up as promised and performed the work. He did an excellent job,he even made alot of improvements that I never even asked for and the result was beautiful. Today I have a deck that will last for a long time and me an my children will really enjoy. I would give this company the highest rate possible and would definitely use them again iin the future.

He was very good and he did a very good job. I don’t have any complaints. He was very professional and the price that he charged was the going rate. It was good.

JD was prompt in giving us an estimate and then did the repairs the next day. He was very friendly and professional and he did a great job. We actually hired him again to fix up and stain our deck and are looking forward to him coming out to start that tomorrow. We expect he'll do a great job with that too, as he seems very knowledgable about deck repairs and construction. Overall, we are very pleased with JD's service.

JD provided an estimate (I got 3 and his was the lowest, but I also felt most comfortable with him). He showed up on time, had a friend to assist him with the vaulted trim, did all the work in 1 day, and cleaned-up after himself.

JD did a great job for me.  He arrived when he said he would which was within a couple of hours from when I called.  He gave me a fair price, completed the work quickly, and did a good job.  His first priority seemed to be to do quality work and make sure that I was satisfied.  I was satisfied and I will call him again when needed.

I was looking for a deck cleaner and refinisher for our old deck that was very dirty and mildewed. I took a chance on someone in the want ads in the Tuscaloosa News. I didn't check Angie's List because before, there have never been people from Tuscaloosa listed. Anyway, called JD Handyman phone number and had to leave a message. Waited 2 days, but he called back and immediately apologized for not returning the call sooner. He asked about the job and we arranged a time for him to come the next day to look at the deck. He said he had to finish another job by noon and would call and then be at our house after that. He called and came by at about 2:00. He looked over the job, said he could do it for $350, if we bought the deck paint. He recommended a full coverage paint, due to the condition of the wood. He also recommended going to Lowe's because he had found that their personnel were the most knowledgable about deck finishes. He said he could start the job the next morning, if we had the paint. We agreed and went to Lowe's that night to get what we wanted. JD had said he would start at 9:30 because he had to run past another job before he came here. He showed up about 9:45, which was GREAT. (Better than almost all of any other workmen we have had.) After getting everything prepared, he worked till he had done 2 bleachings, scrubbings and rinsings. He told us he was leaving for lunch and would be back to do more. He came back to check on dark spots that needed more cleaning and worked on those. He then left for the day to let everything dry overnight. he said he would be back at 8:00 in the morning and he emphasized that twice to us. He returned about 8:10 in the morning and proceeded to paint. He painted the railings, seats and other side surfaces first and gave them 2 coats. He then painted the edges of the floor area between all the boards, with a brush, on his hands and knees -- very conscientious job. Then painted the boards with a roller. He waited a while and did the second coat. He then waited a while and did a touch up on areas that needed it. He was done by 12:30 and talking to us and leaving. My husband showed him some other exterior painting we need done on our house and JD gave us a quote for that job, too. We will be calling him again, soon. He is a very nice, courteous worker. He was quiet--no loud radio, or lots of phone calls. He mentioned Angie's List, so I am giving him a review here to help him get more work. You will not be disappointed, if you call him. He does lots of other things, too, like plumbing, interior painting, repair, electrical. But I don't know personally his skill in these areas.

Promptly responded to request for quote, and described approach he would use. Returned as scheduled to perform work. Was punctual for both the quote and work. Focused on the tasks at hand through out the duration, and completed the work within a reasonable time frame and without incident. Was friendly, but professional. Pleased to have located him, and will definitely call him first for future service needs.

He is prompt, professional, dependable and very fairly priced.   The quality of work is top-notch.   I would use another service ONLY if JD is unavailable for the work required.

JD Handyman is fast, friendly, and professional. I am so glad to have found him here on Angie's List. He did a great job of the things I needed today, and I will definitely be calling on him again as the need arises. I give him my highest recommendation!
