Disappointment and untrustworthy behaviors by manipulators can lead to significant issues. E.P.S. Construction Group, LLC from Fort Payne, AL, does not have reliable employees; in fact, they typically have only 1-2 staff members. They often hire day laborers from Home Depot or Loweâ s, regardless of their experience. We hired E.P.S. on March 21, 2024, based on a promise and a signed agreement, along with verbal commitments witnessed by a third party. They assured us they would remodel the entire house, claiming expertise in HVAC installation, kitchen cabinets, bathroom renovations, flooring, painting, and exterior work. Unfortunately, they failed to fulfill these commitments, leaving us with damages estimated at over $18,500 due to uncompleted tasks. They promised to complete the work and provide the keys by May 1st; however, it was September 1st when we realized we were misled. Communication was inconsistent; at times, we waited 2-3 days for responses while Jesus Gonzales (256-630-8181 and 256-304-8494) repeatedly asked for payment but was rarely present at the property. He consistently provided excuses, claiming he was at our property when he was not. Initial work began outside with debris removal and landscaping but was never completed. After charging us $5,100, he became increasingly absent, citing financial issues. We later discovered he hired undocumented immigrants who performed only superficial work for photos and inspections. We ended up purchasing materials worth over $50,000, for which we have receipts. We paid E.P.S. and Jesus Gonzales over $45,000 directly and in cash. Additionally, we had to pay for the HVAC system, which was supposed to be installed by E.P.S. By September 1st, we had to terminate his services and hire two professional workers to complete the project. Jesus Gonzales did not install kitchen cabinets properly, neglected electrical work, and left plumbing incomplete. We have video and photographic evidence to corroborate our claims about this fraudulent company. We are still left with materials costing us over $55,000 in additional expenses, plus over $40,000 he still owes us due to the incomplete initial work. His ongoing lies are documented; he did not return calls or messages for days while constantly expressing that he needed money. He ultimately claimed he only required four days to finish but then requested an additional $10,000, promising to complete the work within two daysâ another empty promise. E.P.S. Construction Group and owner Jesus { removed last name} (256-630-8181 and 256-304-8494) are engaging in fraudulent practices and should not be permitted to operate in Alabama. His work is unsafe and unprofessional, leading to flooding and further damage to our property. The only work completed properly was flooring in three rooms, but he subsequently painted over it, necessitating replacement. We experienced flooding due to his negligence; he removed downspouts and gutters without establishing a proper drainage system. He assured us the drainage would be completed, but when it was not, heavy rain caused flooding, leading to an additional $18,000 in repair costs. Moreover, he stole more than half of the materials during our absence, pretending to complete the work while creating drainage issues inside the walls. There was zero response to our texts, phone calls, or emails. If you need construction work done, please protect yourself and stay away from E.P.S. Construction Group. Feel free to contact us for more information regarding his fraudulent activities.
