Animal & House Sitting
Margaret Mayer has been a God send to my dogs! My lab mix hates going to a kennel. He is much happier and secure getting to stay at home.
Margaret comes to the house, feeds, waters and loves on my dogs and makes them feel comfortable while I am away. Her prices are very resonable for home visits and better than the kennels (if you have multiple dogs.)
Margaret doesn't mind me calling to check in while I'm away and she always leaves detailed notes about how my fur babies did while I was gone. She is an honest genuine person and very caring to my 3 dogs.
I highly recommend Pet Sitters of the Shoals.

Animal & House Sitting
The service was for 8 days. In the past I have used boarding facilities to care for my cat with not very good results--my cat always seemed very scared when I came to get him and after I brought him home it would take several days for him to calm down and relax. Margaret Mayer from Pet Sitters of the Shoals (256) 366-3669 came for a home visit before I left and got to know my cat. She put my mind at ease with her obvious love of animals and her professionalism. She provided several updates on Spock via email while I was away. Although I had given her a termination date for her service, she asked if I would call her to let her know we had returned safely and so she would know that Spock would be being cared for. Spock was glad to see me, but he obviously had had ample attention while I was gone. I will definitely use Pet Sitters of the Shoals (Florence, Alabama) again. "I'm late in responding to this review, but I was just reminded of it. Spock is a joy to spend time with. He's one of those friendly cats with a lot of personality and we enjoyed each other's company. I think he requires daily playtime and affection as much as food, and I was happy to give it to him. It's good to know he was calm and satisfied when his people came home."

Animal & House Sitting
I needed someone to check on my cats while I was out of town for a week. Margaret came by several times to check on them and was great! She gave them fresh food, made sure they had plenty of fresh water and cleaned the litter boxes. She took the time to brush and play with them when they wanted. Also took the time to check the mail, made sure all the doors and windows were secure and called to give me status updates. She took the time to water several plants on my front steps too. Actually think one of the cats was disappointed when I came home because Margaret spoiled her so much! She loves animals and it really shows and I felt she had very reasonable rates. I will definitely use her again!

"I am WAY overdue on responding to this review. My only (weak) defense is that I didn't see it for a while and then I didn't know about responding. Who wouldn't love a cat like Sophie? She enjoyed having me for company and was happy to be brushed and played with. She would jump up on my lap when she was ready for affection and petting. Her sibling, on the other hand, is shy to the point of completely hiding from someone she doesn't know. All you can do for the shy ones is give them their food, water, and clean their "bathroom." I just treat their individual needs and give each what they need."
