Came back twice to try to fix leak. It is still leaking

I called North Alabama Roofing and Restoration to address roof leak, they replaced flashing,shingles in the area that was leaking, lso had all the vent boots (5 of them) on the roof replaced.
First, I have used this company in the past with no issues (approximately 5 years ago).  They did some work for a neighbor and I contacted them in that manner the first time.  So, when I needed a leak addressed in a new house, I called them back.
When I contacted them they sent an estimator out to quote the job. It took 3 days and 2 phone calls to get the bid returned to me.   I thought the bid was high but  was in need of help to stop a leak and agreed to the bid.  Thy follow up the bid with a contract
to bind you into paying for the service then do not up for weeks afterward.  After agreeing to sign the contract it took another week to get the service scheduled ANOTHER THREE WEEKS OUT!  Unacceptable, but that is just the start.
Finally, the work was performed and the leak continued from the same spot.  It was EXTREMELY painful to get them back to address the issue.  Multipel UNANSWERED calls for each return trip.  I would call the main number and was told I would recieve areturn call that would not happen . This went on for another 6 weeks with 3 return trips that were never able to resolve the leak.  They started blaming windows and pours brick at this point.   I had that addressed by another company and ? Still have the same leak.
I wound up calling another roofing company and they found that North Alabama Roofing had;
1. used substandard flashing (the cheapest thing possible)
2. they did not rap the flashing around brick corners far enough AND
3. re-shingled over rotten decking that was so deteriorated it could not be overlooked.
I called another roofing company and the leak was diagnosed in one trip and it was fixed the next day.

The project was completed in a timely enough manner, however I had to keep on them. I had to get them to come back and replace 2 of the 3, 4x4 posts that supported the porch roof due to the fact they installed wood that was terribly split. I believe they subcontract out all parts of the projects and the workers use whatever materials they have. No company should install shotty materials; especially split wood that supports a main structure.  Also, I had to remind them to replace a p****** piece of trim wood and to get their electrician to come back as everything was not wired completely before they left. As long as you oversee their project to completion and watch and question them at every step; I would contact a different company. I personally would not use them again.

I did a lot of research and I talked with my insurance agent. We found this local company and they are great. I upgraded to architectural shingles instead of regular shingles so the price went up a little from the quote. The superintendent came out afterwards and spent an hour just doing this and that to make sure it was perfect. They had five guys but I was still surprised that they could get it done in one day. The superintendent called in the morning to make sure everything was still okay and then he called again when he was 15 minutes out; I thought that was great because I?ve never had someone call twice. He was on time, he was polite, and he explained everything in clear detail. He told me beforehand what would happen, who was coming, what they would be doing, and everything I needed to know. Their cleanup was impeccable and I can?t find a shingle, a nail, or anything. The gentlemen that were here were great and they played their music at a low level. When they had to deal with me they knocked on the door and when my dog got out the backdoor someone came to explain exactly what was happening. He didn?t even hesitate to go looking for the dog; he was caring and concerned. It seemed like they took pride in their work and they wanted to do it right. I left their sign in my yard until recently and I recommend them.

We first made contact with this company in December of 2008 for the chimney flashing and skylight replacement. The chimney flashing was done well, but one of the skylights were installed backwards. This allowed water to collect and cause more interior water damage instead of draining properly. We also pointed out another leak. We received three different assessments over several visits. Each time an action was taken, the leak occurred. The date listed above was the most recent interaction concerning this leak. The representative finally indicated that previous repairs (caulking, etc.) were not sufficient and that the cricket above the leak should have had step flashing and new valleys. When asked as to why this assessment had not been made initially, I could did not get a satisfactory answer. I asked, out of fairness, if the most recent quote could be discounted on a count of their failure to assess the problem correctly. They said no. My take: they should NOT be on USAA's repair list. Professionals do the job right the first time (cricket leak problems) and they should know their products (skylight).

We had hail damage and NARR was instrumental in getting us the ice & water shield from the insurance company that was not included in the estimate. They cited the building code and we received the supplemental cost accordingly. While we were waiting on the claim to be processed and materials to be ordered, they tarped an area suspected for leaking. The estimate/claim was followed verbatim and the work was done promptly. They cleaned up daily, magnetized the yard, and the foreman was professional. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for roofing repairs or replacement.

The guys came out and promised to do all of the things that we needed. I specifically stated that I wanted the wrought iron fence prepped properly for the painting. They came out and did not even prep the fence at all. They also dropped off a worker that did not seem to know what he was doing. They promised they would bring in workers that knew what they were doing, and they did not do this. I was disappointed in the work. We told them not to start staining our deck because of some renovations that were happening in our house. They went ahead and stained it anyway, and so it does not look good now. I think they stained the deck so they could just be done with the job and get paid. I would not use them again, and I would not recommend them to anyone.

They were very good. They were very prompt and professional.

Gave an estimate, insurance company approved and scheduled work. Completed work on schedule with no problems and paid company.
