OWENS SMALL ENGINE REPAIR

My mother was called in mid-December and told the item was ready to be picked up. At the time, she was in the hospital and could not pick up the item. The Owens were told this. (I was out of town at the time). In late February, 2011, I learned that the tiller was still at the shop so I went to get it. The tiller had been sold. At no time did the Owens notify my mother that they were selling the tiller, nor did they file a lien with the local probate court, both of which are required by Alabama law. I tried to get the Owens to work with mw to resolve the issue, however, the only reply was that I could take them to court. My mother is in her 70's and is dealing with a terminally ill husband who is an invalid. The Owens knew this and I feel that they took advantage of the situation because they felt they could get away witth it. I can not attest to their work because the item was sold to someone else. The charge for the service they rendered on the tiller was $70.00. This item was only 2 years old and was valued at $400.00. I imagine they made a healthy profit. I do not recommend this company.
