The moving went fine. This guy just outsources the work though and doesn't actually have employees do the moving. He finds someone that will do it cheap locally and then essentially charges you a finders fee. He doesn't say that on his website or tell you that when you talk to him obviously. He'll ask you to pay some of the fee via PayPal and then the rest via cash to the people moving. Then you find out they are a separate company altogether and they don't know who the guy with "Best Rates Movers" is. They just got a phone call from him asking him to show up somewhere to do a job. It worked out in the end, but I paid 70 bucks unnecessarily and it seemed underhanded.

We don't often know this in advance but are sure to get competent people to help. So I chose this company because their Craigslist ad boasted 20 years experience which was false. They made me give a deposit of $125 which was no problem. But, the day of move 2 Boys show up with a different company name. The 2 boys were very personable but had very little experience and and were quite slow. My family and i all but unloaded the truck ourselves. But back to this company. We just found out they auctioned our move to the highest bidder and not Once told us anything about this. When I hire someone and pay them a deposit i expect that company to do my job. At the very least communicate the fact my job is being subcontracted out. Then my Wife tried to communicate with them about this and was treated very poorly and spoke to rudely. So I just want to warn everyone to stay away from these people as they are shifty and dishonest as well as rude when confronted with the truth. They advertise on Craigslist as Best Value Movers. Very disappointing experience!!!!

"First of all, very sorry that you felt you were treated unfairly. However in the moving industry it is not uncommon to contract out work to another company if your business becomes overbooked as happens especially in the busiest months of summer. To be fair, the workers (in their 20s so not considered "boys") did show up on time and were "very personable" as you said so we don't deserve a bad grade in all areas. However, because of your comment, we decided not to use the service of that company again. Thank you."
