We are converting from gas back to a wood burning. Mike showed up on time, he was professional, friendly and left my home as clean as he found it. Mike was kind enough to remove the gas logs for me, which was a nice surprise and very much appreciated. Some minor repairs are needed and I will be hiring Quality Chimney to do the job (waiting on weather to clear up).

I hired this company to replace a broken panel in a fireplace, I also needed a new Damper handle made and the chimney cleaned. We set a date , Mike showed up on time and replaced the panel in the fire place. I was told he would have to make a damper handle as it was a little different from the ordinary. Mike said he would make the handle and get back to me to install it and clean the chimney at the same time. This was supposed to happen the following week, unfortunately Mike never followed through with the handle or the chimney cleaning. I attempted 3 times to have them get back to me as I do understand that this is the busy season for them. No response whatsoever from this company, very disappointing.
I will need to clarify that the panel replacement went very well and an A rating for this, as to the lack of follow through on the rest of the job an F rating, therefore I will give them an average of a C.

They did well. The final price was 10 dollars more than the bid and the communication should have been better.

Reps arrived at appointed day and time. Courteous staff, worked clean and efficient. I asked them to move my insert to the garage, since

i planned to retire the unit. They handled that (unscheduled) part of the service with no fuss; did charge me a little extra (if they wouldn't have, i would have tipped them), which was ok by me, last not least it did take some extra time.
So the initial experience was right on and deserved an A all the way around.
A couple of days later, during a storm, it blew my chimney cap off the chimney. Since they had to remove it during cleaning, i figured the guy must have not fastened it well when he put it back on. Last not least that cap was on the chimney for 7 straight years prior to this service call and never came off the entire time (yes, it even made it through those nasty tornados in 2010).
I called the company, told them what happened and asked them to come by at a time convinient to them to put the cap back on the chimney. I was told that they would be by within a few days. A week past and nobody showed, so i placed another call. I waited again for a few days and finally gave up - and put it on myself.
The moral of this story is that it is easy to shine when everything is going your way - what seprates you from the pack is how you handle siutations outside the norm. It would have been easy for Quality Chimney to correct the situation - but they chose not to.
To understand the rating, the initial service call was an A all the way around, but the follow up to the problem was an F. Therefore overall score C.

Guys did a great job cleaning by the fireplace and wood burning stove. Very friendly.

Mike arrived punctually on the appointment date. He was extremely careful and professional in assessing the situation and removing the birds from the chimney. Thoroughly cleaned up and left no traces. Installed two stainless steel animal guards over the chimney opening that will prevent the birds from returning next year. Will call Mike without reservation for future service.
