Monday morning there was a lightning strike in our neighborhood, and we lost power to the guest room, guest bath, and hallway. I filled out an online form with my home warranty company, and the e-mail response said that Goss Electric would be contacting me. On Monday afternoon, Goss Electric called to schedule the appointment for 8 AM on Tuesday. The electricians arrived at 8 AM as promised. The entire process took about 3 hours, because it was not just the breaker that needed to be replaced. A specific wire between one of the wall outlets and a switch had been shorted out, so they had to take apart the circuit piece by piece until they found the source of the problem. Once found, they bypassed the problem, and got everything working in short order (ha!). One thing that was unexpected was the electricians' concern for cleanliness... They wore covers on their shoes when they were in the house, and they vacuumed up the insulation and wire, etc. from the carpet when they were done. The price I paid was for the repair itself, plus the trade call fee from the home warranty company (which does not pay for lightning damage, but apparently they do pay for the diagnostic time). I would definitely call Goss Electric for any other electrical work I need to have done.

The technician was very professional, located and repaired the problem.

Overall it has worked. I still have a problem of the circuit breaker flipping but it has more to do with another problem, likely in the wall, that I did not have them come in to look at. I could have had them look for it but right now its above my budget so I didnt. I will have them back again to correct it.

We have used Goss for several years. Always prompt and courteous. Do professional jobs that meet code. Even though they come from Decatur their price is very competitive. We needed electrical service restored after a storm on a Holiday and they were the only ones that even answered the phone. They came quickly, did the job abd waited until 3AM for the City inspector.

During the course of remodeling, some wiring was incorrectly replaced and we started to smell something hot in the bathroom. A friend recommended I call J and D because he had used them before and been very pleased. J and D had two employees, Price and Ruben, out to my house within 24 hours and they quickly discovered that one of the switches was overloaded and had fried itself. They replaced the switch and corrected the wiring issue very quickly. I was so pleased that I asked them to take a look at several other electrical items I wanted to have done. I was not expecting a firm estimate as much of the work involved cutting into drywall and existing wiring routes around joists, studs, and headers were unknown. The work was done on a time and materials basis with Jand D charging $75/hour for the two-man team (not $75 each!). Price and Ruben spent almost a full week at my house and did a great job. They cleaned up each day and were always on time in the morning. Absolutely terrific job!
