Decatur Door Service

The appointment was scheduled right away. Serviceman came out to determine size of spring needed and type and length of tubing needed. Came back after gathering all the supplies needed and got the job done quickly.

The metal track for our garage door was completely bent and the door would not go down past that point.  They promptly came out and quickly fixed the track and the door runs great now. I was so glad we wouldn't have to replace the entire frame and also pleased with how quickly they responded, and arranged to come at a time convenient to me.

My garage door opened with a great deal of shaking and noise, after we bought our house.
Decatur Door Service offered an Angie's List 'Big Deal' for a garage door 'tuneup'. We took the offer.
DDS showed up promptly, discovered the problem (worn rollers), and made the repairs as offered.
They also checked for other problems, found them, and offered some additional services (new remote controllers) at a fair price.
Overall it went great - our garage door now works perfectly, with a minimum of trouble and at a good price.

It went well. The guy did a great job. It turned out well. The only complaint is that it was a little more work than it need to be to get it scheduled.

Just fine.

I will not use them again, nor will I buy a garage door tune up.

Very good. Took us a week or so to get together but once we did they got job done in a short period of time.

Great overall. Responded to service schedule request promptly and were able to make the service call within 2 days. Worked quickly; answered all questions; did a little extra work on the garage door seal (which was not part of the tune-up checklist). Replaced rollers with nice, quieter version so garage door is working better than before. I would use this Service in the future if needed.

They came and oiled everything.  There were no additional costs.  I would use them again in the future.

He was prompt, professional and courteous. Garage door works great now. Wish we would have called him sooner.

Completed the tune up, lubrication and adjustment of screws.  It took about 5-10 minutes after waiting since 8:00 a.m. this morning.  Scheduling is a major problem with this company.  I trust their expertise, but I gave them a window of 8-12, then they called at 2:00 p.m. to reschedule for the next day, then called to reschedule from 3-4, then arrived at 5:30 p.m.

It was great. It was about the shortest service I've ever encountered. They were in and out within about five minutes.

The original contact back from them was quick.  Then nothing.  I sent two e-mails over the next few days and then finally I called them and we set up a Thursday morning and the service I wanted.  They didn't show up that morning so I called them after lunch and was told that they had me scheduled for the next day.  They indicated that I was mistaken about the day it was scheduled.   I work on Wednesdays and Fridays so I don't schedule any projects or business on those days.  When they hadn't shown up on Friday morning I called them again and was told that they had been waiting for a delivery truck to bring the parts they needed and they would be out as soon as they had it unloaded.  I was not happy with the events leading up to the arrival of the person.   The man did the service I requested and cleaned up when he was finished.  The coupon was for $69 and it turned out it was to replace rollers in just one garage door.  It cost another $60 dollars to do the second door.  In all fairness the man said the owner of the business wanted him to apologize to me for the delay in getting to me.  The work was fine and the doors roll up and down smoother and quieter. The disconnect in the beginning set the wrong tone but I might recommend them to friends and neighbors with the warning that in my case the communication leading up to the complete job was not satisfactory.
