Garrett Truck Service Inc

I had a bad experience with them.  I drive a semi and it is hard to find an independent repair person that will actually do what they say without ripping you off.  You have to go to the big shops and you pay a lot more in labor but you get what you pay for in the long run.  I thought we were overcharged at Garrett.  He charged me for three and a half hours of labor at $90 per hour.  They didn’t do anything to the truck and couldn’t find anything that was a problem.  We told them what the problem was but they said they drove it twice and put it on a machine and they couldn’t find it.  My husband said that kind of service should usually take about an hour.  I had to use them; I had no choice because it was an emergency situation.  We know now we need to take it to the dealership in Birmingham this week.  I want to take the receipt back to them and show them what the problem was.  I’m not sure it would do any good now that they’ve spent the time on it, or so they claimed.  I try not to complain but I told the guy when I left that I felt like I just burnt up three $100 bills.  Normally the dealership doesn’t even charge me that much and they break their bills down to the minute.
