Project was scheduled for completion on October 15, 2018. To this date it has not been completed. JNB was terminated on March 20, 2019 due to their refusal to properly repair their poor workmanship in multiple areas after two previous attempts to repair the same issues. Their excuse for the poor workmanship was our not being present while work was being done. On several occasions going so far as to say. "it made it more difficult to do the work right without you being here." From November to March they would only show up one or two days a month and usually for only a few hours each time. Also during this time they requested draws on the monies owed and were given only one draw as the work wasn't being done. Several personal items have gone missing from our home as well as construction materials that we paid for out of our pockets prior to the work being started. One room only required a new ceiling be put in and instead they ripped out the 1 x 6 tongue and grove original wood walls and the hardwood floors were destroyed due to their employees mixing paint, mud and tile grout on top of the floor without any barrier placed to protect them, Electrical work was shoddy in that the blue junction boxes were not properly seated in the walls causing the outlets to be misaligned and uneven. Outlet covers were supposedly impossible to find but I was able to locate them and order them in less than 15 minutes. The drywall and mud techniques were sloppy and in many rooms we have several "nail" (screw) pops and uneven surfaces due dried mud not being sanded before paint was applied. Window trims and inside of closets were to be painted but only white primer as applied. New floors were put down before any work was close to completion and not properly covered to protect them from paint or additional drywall dust. NO effort was made to clean up after themselves as we often found several cups and food containers left in and around the outside of the property. Our front yard was used as the parking and now we have several ruts in the yard as well as the dumpster location was left with huge holes and ruts in the ground. We have tire ruts from one side of the yard to the other. There was plenty of room to park on the driveway and street but chose not to do this. Just outside the front door in our planting beds and around the trees is tile debris and mud/grout debris left. They cleaned out paint brushes and mud trays beside the brick and in the planting beds with overspray covering much of the area, including house, windows, screens and plants. The worst though was our small bathroom tile job. The drywall foundation was never laid correctly it was severely out of vertical and horizontal level. NO vapor barrier was applied as I requested (this is a fully internal bathroom no exterior walls or windows). I had purchased over $3900.00 of custom tile for this bathroom which included bullnose, accent/mosaic (which has gone missing), primary tile, and mosaic tile (shower floor). The final outcome of the tile progressivley got worse each time they tried to repair their poor workmanship, to the point that one of the owners of JNB refused to completely redo tile which was required per his tile sub contractor. Both owners of JNB were made completely aware of all issues, they would come only for a short visit and repeatedly stated "We will fix this and make it right." They never put any actual effort into making sure it was done right by staying on site and supervising the quality of workmanship.
