Description of Work: owner David Billings contracted to build a sunroom addition to our home. He used many hispanics (they put sheetrock up over the french doorway), lead carpenter was an alcoholic caught drinking on the job. His replacement unable to trim windows without making it crooked. Our wall and basement foundation was cracked when they pulled stairs away from the outside wall with a machine instead of cutting the rebar holding it in place. He was aware of all this and offered nothing. We never got any papers on our roof which made any warranty worthless. Only good job was done by his painter and ceramic tile man.

 + -1 moreWe contacted David and he told us the steps and the cost at each step. Fifteen hundred dollars for design plans, which would have included help with shopping for appliances, grante counter top, etc. Kind of expensive plans maybe, but we were told up front, so I have not complaints. The whole job of moving walls, appliances, counter tops, etc., estimated out at $50k. We decided not to spend the money for now.
Description of Work: We decided not to spend the estimate amount of $50,000 to remodel our kitchen. We did receive a couple of different blueprint plans that we liked.

 + -1 moreHe was very pleasant until we asked for a written estimate, and breakdown of his costs. Mr. Billings said he doesn't tell anyone what his profit and overhead charges are. We were fools to give him so much money in advance, but feel we probably saved a lot more by not hiring him to do our remodel job.
Description of Work: We didn't have any work performed, but were charged $1,200 for about 20 minutes of kitchen plans, and one visit to a tile, appliance, and cabinet wholesaler. Mr. Billings told us $300 was for the design, and the rest for city permits and future job expenses. Now he tells us the entire amount was for the work provided. What work? We backed out of the $100k remodel job, when he wouldn't provide us with a breakdown of his estimate and costs. We were lucky we didn't go ahead with the job.
