I read the reviews on Angies List and decided on taking my lawn mower to Chalkville Small Engine.  When I arrived the place was packed with customers and lawn mowers.  I found an employee, told them what my mower was doing.  After helping me unload it, he found another employee, sorry I can't remember his name, he tried to start it, checked a few things then went in the shop and got a can of carburetor cleaner.  He took of the air filter and after a quick spray or two I pulled on the cord and it started right up!  He explained what probably happened, helped me load it back up and I was on my way and at no charge!  I would definitely use them again for any lawn mower issues.

Services were performed in a timely manner. They were unable to get one part that I needed because they were not a dealer for the product, but overall they were very responsive.

Tractor mower would not move forward or backward The transmission wheel |was wore out. It was replaced and everything work great.

I have been taking my mowers there for 10 years. It is a family business and the folks are friendly and know what they are doing.
I'm laughing at the guy who gave them a C grade because they were not and quot;friendlyand quot; and took only cash or checks. Wow, what a horrible place to go because they won't take a charge or debit card. If you want good service and good folks who will fix your mowers, go there. While there, pet the cat you might find sleeping on the desk or shelf near the desk. I took my self-propelled mower there today after my wife hit a large protruding root from one of our oak trees, bending the blade.

I took my mower in to have the starter and recoil spring replaced. I took it in on a Saturday and they called Monday and said it was ready to pick-up. Very fast service. I thought the price was a little on the high side but maybe it was fair. The staff was not as friendly as I have read in the other reviews. The repair was fast and the problem fixed. The only thing I disliked was the price was a little high and they only accept cash and checks. I'm not sold on them, however.

This is a family owned business and the folks who work there are friendly and helpful. They really know their stuff, yet they don't talk down to you or blame you for your small engine needing work. They are the exact opposite of kind of the condescending, arrogant and unfriendly jerks you often find in the big city store and repair places. Although I only needed string trimmer parts this time, I look forward to another pleasant drive in the country and going back to see them the next time the need arises.

The motor runs smoother than when I purchased the unit ten years ago.
