He was not dependable to show up when promised; he would spend a few hours and then not return for a week; after a month, he said he was done. He showed me 2 short pvc pipes beneath the house that he had replaced, and he showed me a piece of pvc pipe buried just beneath ground surface near the connection between the main drain line and the city line at the street. He led me to think he had replaced the main drain line from house to street. I paid him the balance at that time. Two weeks later the occupant/tenant complained of raw sewage and upon inspection the raw sewage was much worse than before. Another plumber was called and after inspection found the main drain line from house to street 100% blocked by roots and broken in places. The pvc pipe showed to me by Daugherty was only an unconnected piece he had buried there to mislead me. It cost another $2,200 for the second plumber to replace the main line.
Description of Work: The sink and toilet were backed up and raw sewage had leaked from pipes in crawl space. Daugherty contracted to "repair and replace plumbing, drain lines, kitchen sink to main drain, bath tub drain and PVC trap, replace as needed 4" drain; remove tree". $2,200 agreed price; $1,100 paid up front and $900 when he said he was done.
