Jewelry Sales/Design/Repair
It seemed to take forever. I have known Mr. Woodruff for years and as long as the jewelry was in his safe I felt comfortable. When he finally finished the appraisals, I discovered that one very valuable ring (approx. $16,000) of my Dad's was not with the rest of the items. He claims that he never had it and I could quote to him verbatim the conversation we had had when I left all of the jewelry with him. I have, unfortunately learned a VERY valuable lesson here. NEVER but NEVER leave anything of value without getting a receipt, especially if it is not insured. After all, that's why he had the ring in the first place. I know that the jeweler has to have insurance, but since there is no receipt, there is no proof. I am just out of luck here, but maybe this will save someone else!!
