I emailed Vulcan Data about my "missing" data. Don replied to my email within the hour. I called, scheduled an appointment for the next day, and took him my computer. I was surprised when I arrived at the provided address and realized he was operating Vulcan Data out of his basement. That made me a little uncomfortable, but his Hoover business license was hanging on the wall, which seemed to affirm that his business was legit.
We discussed the issues and the cost. His prices were very reasonable. He was optimistic that he could recover the data, but he made it clear that he could give me no guarantee. Happily, he was able to recover the data, and I picked up the computer the following week. When I picked it up, I also asked him for some business cards that I could pass on to others.
