Dr. Hadley reviewed my MRI and first directed that I try physical therapy. After working with an excellent therapist, and getting interim treatments, I could get no resolution. Dr. Hadley ultimately took me to surgery to do a discectomy at L4-5. As to outcome, I must say that it takes awhile to recover from this kind of surgery (even at the young age of 50!), but I am a poster case for the repair. I am back to playing golf and tennis and other activities. Hadley is a very busy, nationally-renowned neurosurgeon, and yes he is of course very busy. Nonetheless, he is meticulous in his attention to every detail and in communicating with his patient. As noted above, this was unfortunately my second operation. My first, to repair my neck, was even more satisfactory. My right arm had become suddenly weak and very painful. Since repair of this disc, I have had zero -- zero -- issues in my neck and arm. I know every outcome cannot be as good as my experiences, but I have trust in Dr. Hadley's ability to make the right call and to execute the plan as well as can be done.

It was a long road to surgery.  He was very understanding and gentle.  After the surgery, he went out to the waiting room to inform people what he had done.  He explained the recovery period.
