Today, Damon charged me over $200, and took an hour and 20 minutes, to make two copies of my car key. Car keys. Tiny pieces of plastic and metal. Do not use these people, ever. They will rip you off every time.

I know it was August 3 because it was in the shop from April 10 until August 3 because they didn't want you driving the car after they told you they needed to replace it. But they provided free rental cars and it was Honda, not just this dealer, because my daughter got the same deal in Atlanta. It took long but they got done and it didn't cost me anything to have a rental car. There was really no hassle. I've used them for other things previously for, I bought new tires and took it back to them to get them aligned, that kind of stuff.

It was a brand new car. My car had a problem with it and they took a long time to do the right thing to fix it. They made it hard for me to do it. They made me deal with someone that was not at the dealership but at Honda in Atlanta. That guy was a complete and total jerk to me, multiple times. The dealership couldn't step in because they were afraid that he would penalize them if they try to do the right thing for me. It was awful. The people at the dealership understood what my problem was, but the man in Atlanta that was not with the dealership but was with Honda didn't want to do the right thing. Finally, it took months to get it resolved.

I wanted to pay cash but they wanted me to take out a loan.  The salesmen promised he would add things to the car but when I went to get the car they were added and I walked out.  It took about a week to get everything that I wanted.  I had to haggle for a fair price.

I guess the most disturbing part was the first night I had the van back the check engine light came on and it started misfiring right as I was going across an intersection. I couldn't go more then 10 miles per hour with cars coming. Thank goodness no one hit me just a lot of honking and dirty looks. I took the van back in the next day and told them what happened. They asked me if I had just filled uyp with gas and I had. They said it could just be something that would work out and suggested I drive it over the weekend and bring it in the next week. They gave me a card for a free oil change. I trusted them so that is what I did. I took it in for time #3 and they siad they found a cracked spark plug. It must have cracked when they were putting it on. The car was good. This was on a Wednesday. On Friday as I am going to work on the interstate there was a slow down because of a wreck. As I set there the check engine light came on and the car started misfiring. Well when everyone started to go including all the 18 wheelers around me, I couldn't. I managed somehow to get to the side of the interstate. I was so upset I called my brother to see if he would meet me at Tameron. He was out of town but called them. They said to bring it back in and they would provide me with a rental car. I did. A week and a half later they called to tell me my van was ready. I went and picked it up. They gave me no paperwork and little explanation of what was wrong. This time it lasted about 5 days and the check engine light came on again. So, I took it back to Tameron but this time I spoke with the service manager. By this time I thought they should just refund my money. The service manager said he would discuss with the person authorized to make that decision. I had originally asked them if I should just trade in the van but was told I wouldn't get anything for it. I had spent $6000 and had no confidence that it would ever be fixed. The service manager said he would handle it. They kept it several days and did provide me with a rental car. The service manager called and said it was ready. He said the fuel tank was dirty. Now the entire time the check engine light was putting out the exact same codes. Misfiring cylinders. When I questioned him about a refund that was not even possible. I don't believe he ever spoke to anyone. I have had my van back a day but it is hard to drive when I keep waiting on the check engine light to come on.

"This is in response to the complaint from your member [member name removed]. [member name removed] sister brought the vehicle in to Tameron and asked to speak to the manager. As I talked with her I realized some mistakes had been made along the way during and after this repair. I told her I would give this my undivided attention and that I would include my shop foreman on this until it was repaired to her satisfaction. I apologized, we agreed, and I put her sister in a rental car and told her I would be in touch with her every step of the way during the repairs. She acknowledged that would be ok. As we looked into the repairs I found some mistakes that had been made. One of which was the head shop we sent the heads to did not have the valves seated properly, we corrected that and put [member name removed] in the vehicle after test driving it, believing everything would be ok. However, it came back yet again. As we looked further into the issues we found through the help of the manufacturers tech line we had some fuel issues. We drained the tank and found contamination in the fuel that had been put in, not sure where it came from. After cleaning the tank and putting fresh gas in the vehicle I got permission from the customer to drive the vehicle home and test drive as much as possible to make sure it would be fine. Permission was given and we drove the vehicle approx 347 miles before calling the customer and letting them know we had it fixed. At this point I offered for them to pick it up or I would be glad to drive it another day just to make sure. They wanted to leave it one more day, we agreed. After another day it was still running great. When your member and her sister returned to pick up the vehicle they told me they wanted a new van or a full refund. The van has a new short block motor in it and it is not possible to reinstall the old engine due to complete lack of compression. This was the reason we recommended the repair initially. I discussed this with the president of our company and he said we would do everything we could to help them trade out of the vehicle if that would help satisfy them which would include to money for their van and a very fair price. [member name removed] picked up the van and has been driving it for over two weeks without any problems. I believe we have met the obligation to repair the van as [member name removed] sister and I agreed to during our first meeting. I apologized to [member name removed] and her sister and they said my apology was not accepted. We gladly invested over $1000.00 in a rental car and other expenses to insure we got this right for our customer. I am sorry this repair was not correct in the beginning, some our fault and some not. It was just my goal to get this van back on the road and running correctly for the customer as agreed and I feel that was done."
