RICHARD WEBSTER PAINTING AND HOME IMPROVEMENTS

Did a great job and was very polite. Called Richard back to get an estimate on painting my ceilings and set up a date to come back and perform the painting. Richard never showed up and tried to call but never got any response.

Richard was quite responsive to our call, coming out the same day to provide an estimate. We discussed the work and he gave us a price and an approximate start date on the spot. We didn't get any other bids, but the price seemed quite reasonable and competitive.
He called a few days later to say that he could start early, which we took him up on. it took a little longer than expected to get the job done,but he was still finished by the date that he originally promised. The patching/painting job looks great, and we are happy with the quality. Will recommend him to others.

I have used Richard's services before and have recommended him to friends who have dad similar positive experiences. Of course you can't please 100% of the people 100% of the time. Richard as usual showed up on time, quoted a fair price for the work done, cleaned up after himself and is a very personable individual.

I hired Richard to paint my entire home, exterior and interior. The exterior was a decent job although he did not replace some rotten wood we specifically spoke about, he filled it with caulk instead. I let this slide but it should have been my warning. Richard quoted me a price to paint all walls, ceilings, and trim in my house, basically every surface. When we first spoke he said he uses Superpaint (Sherwin Williams mid-high quality paint). Once the painting began I noticed that the products being used were Pro-Mar and Master-Hide. I found out too late that these are basically the cheapest products you can buy at Sherwin Williams. The majority of painting cost is labor so it makes sense to use a quality product. He chose to use a cheap product to fatten his wallet. Richard was given over six weeks to complete the inside of my home and the day I moved in it's still not done. Now i'm stuck with drywall repairs and fixing the paint with a newborn in the house. The quality of work is really bad. Some surfaces don't appear to have been cut or painted at all. I've asked Richard to look at the problem with me and he basically refuses. He's on to new jobs now and I'll not be a repeat customer so he's not concerned that he made a mess of my job. I made the mistake of paying him draws far in excess of the amount of progress. When I mentioned the primer showing he says sometime it just needs another coat but that will be extra. Think that might have something to do with the cheap paint? He'll tell you that he's the best painter in Birmingham, a Christian etc... Don't believe any of it. If I had known that he had a criminal background (he mentioned he did time for a drug related offense) I might not have hired him. I checked his references and they were great but I have a feeling that he paints rentals for those folks, so they don't see or don't care as much about the finished product. If you care about the way the paint looks at all I'd look elsewhere. If you are persuaded to hire him don't pay up front. Slow to paint, did not finish the job but boy he's fast to cash a check!

Perhaps the single best experience I have ever had with a Tradesman. Prompt, courteous, professional, NEAT. Highly recommnded

Did not show up when he said he would be there. Did not do job. Very poor communication skills.

Richard and his professional crew were precise and cleaned up everyday. He was very punctual and trustworthy. I was very pleased and would highly recommend.

Richard's crew did an excellent job. He was very helpful in straightening out a delivery of the tiles (the tile shop did not package them properly and they arrived mostly broken), and everything was professionally done and finished in a timely manner. The crew always showed up when they said they would come, and when for some reason there was a delay, I was promptly informed.

Showed up on time with crew. 4 painters average daily, so finished within alloted time. Easily the least number of days of any estimate we got (6 days). Cleaned up every day. No problems.

They showed up when they said they would, were polite and did a great painting job. They cleaned up after themselves and the place looks great.

Mr. Webster is the best. We gave him the paint chips. He bought the paint and painted the room very well.

Mr. Webster was extremely professional. He was on time and gave a professional bid which was much cheaper than the other bids we received. He started painting the house just two days after giving the bid and was finished within the 7 day time frame. Everything was done beautifully. He has since come back to re-paint because of new color choices and to do odd jobs that I needed help with. I would recommend him to anyone.
