Dr McLain is not always available if I need an unscheduled appointment - nor is any rheumatologist in Birmingham. There is a shortage of them and all of them are overworked. His appointments frequently run an hour or more behind but this seems to be a problem with all of them. But when you're with him, you're the only patient he has or ever has had. He's very emphathetic and willing to work with you and extremely competent, very involved and up to date with available research. For this I will wait.
