LOWES

At the time of this writing, the job complete, but my sink is still leaking.  I called two weeks ago for the plumber to come back.  But he has yet to show up.

I purchased new carpet for a small bedroom in my condo 2 years ago at Lowe's. The carpet itself has held up fine and stains are easily cleaned, BUT within months of installation the carpet was pickering and fraying at the bathroom door. Now, two years out I have MAJOR rises in the carpet that cannot be smoothed out. I have had several people tell me that this is due to poor installation and I would like to warn others against this. As a single, female, home-owner I am often wary of being overcharged on services to my home and I am never really sure who I can trust to do a job correctly. When i was looking at new flooring, I chose Lowe's b/c of the many positive experiences I have had with their products and in-store customer service. I am a huge fan of Lowe's, but I wish that I had not used them for my carpet installation. Lowe's contacts a plethora of individuals for jobs like this, so I don't actually know which crew I got. I'm sure that some crews are better than others, but mine did an awful job and now I have to have the choice of paying a professional a few hundred dollars to fix the problem, living with it, or replacing the carpet all together. When I do replace the carpet I will be using a different company for sure.

I really liked the service person that came and installed the dish washers for me.  He was a super and exceptionally nice delivery person and installer who did a clean job.  He explained everything I needed to know.  He taught me some tricks on how to make it last longer.  He was so friendly and went out of his way to do a good job and be helpful.  He really stood out in my mind.

We purchased a new gas stove when ours went out on Thanksgiving. The Lowe's appliance department set up an appointment time for the installation, using a company that contracts with them. The installer showed up on time. He was courteous, friendly, and professional. He completed the installation quickly and instructed us on how to use the range. Everything about the experience was good.

I've even recommended them to people. It was a convenient one stop shop. We picked out what we wanted and they lined up the people to do the work. We only had to pay them.

Lowe's sub-contractor for installation is where the problems were. The sub-contractors arrived on time and worked a full-day on install on a Friday morning. Worker committed to returning Saturday morning to finish the job and never showed nor called. Worker did not return again till Tuesday morning to finish and did a horrible job of clean-up. Left carpet shreds downstairs and upstairs where he was cutting. Left dresser he moved by the front door. Owner offered to come back again but was ready to move on and clean up on my own. Lowe's was gracious to remove the installation fee from the project for all of the problems. I would recommend Lowe's again, not the sub-contractor.

The door took 3 weeks to come in and then another week before the installer could come put it in. Upon arrival to install it, Installer discovered a bent piece of hardware and was forced to postpone install until replacement was ordered/arrived. It took another 2 weeks for the piece to arrive and then another week for the installer to come out again to install it. I was extremely disappointed that a reputable and well established company like Lowe's would bumble a simple storm door installation, taking almost 2 months from order to final install. Lowe's management apologized profusely and gave me a gift card for my troubles, but I would've preferred to have had the door in on time.

We encountered several problems in the purchase and installation of our dishwasher. First, when we went to purchase the dishwasher we had to wait 20 minutes after we had filled out a contract for the product and installation just to get a manager to sign off on it. The next problem came when the installers did not arrive within the time frame they had specified over the phone. A manager did call from Lowe's to let my husband know the installers would be late and after talking with my husband about our experience, he took $50 off our installation. We received the credit in the form of a $50 gift card. Dishwasher works great and we haven't had any problems, but it was a lot of hassle.

I though that they did a good job and got the work done in a fair time. I was very pleased with the service. The workers were very courteous to us and our home. They made sure that everything was cleaned up and neat.
