they performed a "booklet" of work on my car, some of it regular maintenance like a full brake job and a tune up, I say "booklet" because that is what about 10 pages of itemization looks like. It cost a lot but it was the first MAJOR repair work on my car in 15 years (other than batteries tires oil changes brake jobs etc.). Required not replacing the timing belt/chain but did require moving the engine to get to that area. Kept car overnight, drove me home and picked me up the next day.

They are so professional that they have lane greeters. You think they're service managers but they are there to greet and lead you to the lounge to where the coffee is.  I've never seen that in a car dealership. It took a little bit of time because they took the wrong truck in just like mine and did a service on it before they did mine. In the end they gave it to me free.

When they last serviced my differential, I took it back after noticing some problems and they admitted that they forgot to put the limited slip additive in. The guy squirted some in, but it wasn't enough, so when I went back to have them add more, they told me that it would be $50, or they could completely drain and refill it (what they should have done before) for $100.
At one point I had my battery replaced by them and a year later they said that they battery needed to be replaced. When I pointed out that I still have a warranty on it, they decided that it can wait. That's convenient (and shady).
There was a recall for faulty equipment on Sequoia but not my vehicle despite having the same equipment. So when my check engine light came on, I was pretty much on my own. Hoover Toyota was insistent that I pay $4,000 out-of-pocket for the repair, but Tuscaloosa Toyota told me that they would take care of it through the customer loyalty program because I had done every service on-time and at the dealership. A year later when the parts failed again, Tuscaloosa made it right while Hoover Toyota again told me to pay the $4,000 out-of-pocket.
Just after my warranty expired, a manufacturers flaw in the water pump led to a pinhole leak and I needed to replace the pump. Hoover Toyota told me that they should probably go ahead and replace the timing belt while they are in there so I agreed to the $1400 repair but told them to replace every tensioner and belt as well. About 200 miles later I noticed a terrible noise under my hood and realized that the serpentine belt tensioner was worn out. When I contacted Hoover Toyota they admitted that they didn't replace it despite my request to replace everything and they wouldn't even cut me a break on the labor to do it right (total quote was $500). So I bought the part online from a dealership in NC for $25 less and put it on myself, which cost roughly $75 to fix. Fast forward to them telling me on my most recent service that I need to replace all of these parts again based on mileage (they didn't bother to check my history).
They most recently recommended over $6000 in repairs for several things that were not needed. For example, they wanted to replace the power steering pump, rack & pinion, and all hoses because the pressure crimp hose fitting (factory part) showed evidence of a small leak.

I took my Toyota Prius to Hoover Toyota for a 30k mile service. I had bought prepaid maintenance from Toyota, and used that coupon.
Even though I set up an appointment by phone at a specific time, seems like that appointment is not needed. People can just do a walk-in and get ahead of me. After brining my car over to the service lane, no one greeted me. I had to wave at several people who were busy with their ipads to get their attention. This is surprising ... I've had other maintenance service done at other Toyota locations, but never had to wait despite having a preset appointment.
After giving them the key, I was told to wait in the waiting room, they said and quot;it will take 1 hour 15 minutesand quot;. The actual wait was much longer. I could see that they drove off my car and parked it in one part of the garage. But that was about it ... it was left there for quite some time. The whole thing took about 2 hours (remember, I had set an appointment and was promised a service time).
Anyway, after about 2 hours (most of which my car just lay parked), one service representative comes in and then was very aggressive towards pushing parts sales. His pushy sales techniques were quite annoying and he wouldn't let go till I agreed to get the cabin air filter replaced and AC refresh service performed for about 140.00. Looking back, I think both were totally unnecessary.
Then they told me to go pick up my car. I paid, and at that time, the sales representative seems to forget about me completely, leaving me in the cashier's office for 5-10 minutes. Then he came and gave me the key. I was not told where my car is. I had to go to the parking lot and find my car. As I entered the car, I noticed that they didn't bother to remove the paper covers they placed inside the car. Very surprising.
I was not told what services they performed on the Prius. My impression was that the 30k service would involve more than the usual oil change and tire rotation, but seems like they just did that. Or not???!! As I took my car to the highway, I turned on the AC, and suddenly the AC started to make a very loud noise. and quot;AC refreshand quot;???? Who knew it will turn my AC into a noisy vacuum cleaner type loud machine!
But the worst was not over. I suddenly started to hear noises from the car's transmission/wheels. The car was bumpy ... it felt like someone has misaligned the wheels. Was (and still is hard to drive straight). I'm pretty sure they did something during the tire rotation. The car, which was running smoothly till I went to Hoover toyota, has turned into a noisy and bumpy ride. When I drive it, it sounds like thump-thump-thump.
My suspicion is that they also didn't change the oil or just forgot to do so. Not sure how this is impacting the car's transmission/suspension.
I don't think I will go back. If they can take a perfectly ok car and turn into a bumpy ride, who knows what else they can do.
STAY AWAY from this place.

Over the course of a year, my power locks had been failing, so I finally took it into the dealer to get it repaired. Fortunately I had purchased an extended warranty, so I only paid a deductible of $100.00; otherwise, it would have cost me an arm and a leg. It was a long process, due mainly to the warranty company, but I was provided a rental loaded with features. I was pleased with the overall experience with only one exception: they failed to put the front passenger side door back together properly. The plastic molding does lock into place like it should.

Unless the problem is more than they can handle you get your car back the same day. They do a really good job. I will use them again.

I mostly go to them. They are probably okay. I have been relatively satisfied with them. The pricing was reasonable. As far as I know they did a good job on the service. The whole package is about $100.00 or something like that and with the taxes it goes up by 7 or 8 percent. The service provider sat down with me and made sure of what I wanted and made sure of what my request was. He told me what offerings were available and what best might meet my needs. He told me about how long it was going to be. Since it was going to be fairly long, they provided me with the service where they drove me to my house. Then they came back to pick me up. I was very happy with that. That was free. There is nothing negative I can say about them. I tend to go to the same people. I am planning on seeing them in a couple of months.

a bad experience/2.5 hours for basically an oil change and a tire rotation/twice this dealer has failed to get my car to me after the service was complete/sat for an additional 20 minutes when I could see my car was ready for pickup/GM told me he was initiating a new business model/ I hope it improves his situation/ service department needs real leadership/i'll give him one more chance

I was very pleased with this service department. I have used them for service that I didn't think that I could do myself for 15 years. They have never tried to push additional work on me or do anything that was beyond what was actually needed. A couple of times they even told me that part of what I asked them to do wasn't really needed. I have always been very impressed with the Hoover Toyota service personnel and their work.

It couldn't have gone better. All personnel were kind and efficient. Total honesty in identifying the problem and the associated cost. Speedy service (a matter of hours). Actual experience (rather than hearsay) has changed my mind about dealerships. At least about Toyota dealerships. (Toyotas are so good that their garage reminded me of the Maytag repair man. Very few cars in for service.)

Took car in for 90,000 service. They said I needed a new brake cylinder and drum. A month later I noticed both antifreeze and brake fluid were low. I brought it back. They said they added antifreeze and thought brake fluid level was fine, but topped it off anyway. I checked a couple of days later and did not look to me like they added brake fluid, but I figured they knew what they were doing. I was pulling out of my driveway to begin 900 mile road trip and the brake light goes on intermittently. Then eventually light stays on. I had to add brake fluid and was ok for a while. I drove a lot for the next 2 weeks while away and added more fluid 2-3 times. After we got home, I brought it back to Toyota and they looked at it and said oh yes you do have a little leak. So they fixed it, so far so good, its been about a month and a half. I felt they dismissed my original complaint, but really there were no hassles and they fixed it very quickly and at no additional charge.

My wife and daughter and I wanted to test drive a 2007 Toyota Camry, without a sales rep on the drive. The rep said he'd have to get permission. He returned about 5 minutes later, saying that the owner had a policy of not permitting unchaperoned drives due to liability insurance implications. We left them immediately, drove to another dealership which permitted us to drive the car alone, with proof of auto insurance, which we happily supplied.

This car dealership is fairly good. They tried to tack on an additional five hundred dollars at the end of my purchase. I asked them what it was for. The guy smiled at me and said that it was for repairs around the building. I told him that those repairs were not happening on my dime. They then took off the prices. I thought they were trying to be a little slick but fortunately I caught them. Overall, they are average, I'd say.
