This company was great!  Not super cheap, but high quality and very professional.  They came on time, worked quickly and attended to all the small details.  They worked well with our main contractor, which is not always the case.  They even recommended a great plumbing supply company that we didn't know about before.  I would call them in an instant for any future plumbing issues.  There is that hall bath that needs an upgrade... hmm...

On a Monday, I came home to find my gas water heater leaking with 40+ gallons of water in my basement.  On Tuesday, I had called several plumbing companies to come and look at the system and give me an estimate.  We had just moved into our house in Vestavia in Oct 2013 and the furnace died in Jan 2014 and now this.  After the furnace died, I looked up the serial number and found out that the water heater was built in 1990.  I knew it was going to have to be replaced, but I was hoping later and sooner.  But it died.  Out of several estimates, I went with Hoover Plumbing.  I went with Hoover Plumbing because they looked over the whole system and gave me options.  They others barely looked at my house and gave me a quote (very high!) but didn't explain to me how they arrived at their numbers.  My wife and I were set on getting a new tankless system.  Hoover Plumbing told me that it was going to cost $2,700 (and it did).  They broke down the cost with the system costing $1600 and the rest was for the drainage/routing the exhaust/pipes/labor.  I told them I could have the money on Friday, but they offered to do the work on Thursday and have me post date the check on Friday.  I gladly took them up on the offer.  My family and I have gym membership at Lifetime Fitness were we showered those nights.  I love my old house.  It was another adventure!  Mike from Hoover Plumbing came at 8am Thursday morning, like they said they would, and worked for the next 4-5 hours.  After testing the system and getting all the air out of the lines, they showed me and my wife how it worked and the job they did.  I was really impressed with all the pipes and expanding the gas line to the tankless system.  Later after they left, I had to call them back to fill some holes where the drainage pipes go through the wall and my kitchen faucet had a trickle of water coming out.  When they came back, they did the extra work, but the kitchen was behaving because I have galvanized pipes and there is rust in the lines.  After a few minutes of letting the water run, the rust cleared up and the water flow is back to normal.  Mike even gave me an estimate on replacing all the galvanized pipes to PEX. (about $3000).

My family and I are really happy with our new tankless hot water system.  They are very friendly and professional.

Joey arrived within 30 minutes of my call for service. He quickly and correctly diagnosed the actual problem (unlike the first contractor who wanted to dig up our yard) and promptly made the repairs with parts he had on his truck. The cost was more than reasonable and far less than what the first contractor quoted. Joey was extremely professional, well spoken, and explained everything clearly. He even cleaned up his work area better than it was before he arrived.
As further evidence of the kind of contractor Hoover Plumbing is, a few days later we had another unrelated water valve that had failed so I called Hoover Plumbing and they bent over backwards to make it convenient for my schedule and arrived within the small window of time I had. The valve was replaced quickly.
Hoover Plumbing is now my first call for any plumbing needs. I offer this positive review because Hoover Plumbing earned every bit of it.

I have been very pleased with them. I have had another company out here before that charged me $800 and did nothing so I had to have the whole plumbing replaced. Hoover came out here and fixed it in a couple of minutes and charged me about $200. I have used them several times and they have always come out and resolved all our problems.

Joey from Hoover Plumbing showed up on time, came in and looked at the water line. He knew what the issues was and fixed it within 30 minutes or so. He tested everything out and cleaned up after he was done. This is the second time within the year that we have had Joey perform work for us. Very nice to deal with. I thank Hoover Plumbing for coming out on such short notice.

Joey, he plumber, arrived exactly on time. He was in uniform and the truck was clearly marked with the company name.
he would have to replace an outdoor spigot that would not shut off, but he was able to take it apart and fix it, saving time and money.
He also was able to clear and outdoor patio drain line that had been causing my patio to flood when it rained.
The job was complete in a little over an hour.
I would definitely use Hoover Plumbing again.

Answered my call immediately. Arrived 5 mins EARLY for the scheduled appointment - less than 12 hours later. Diagnosed the problem within a few minutes. Repair parts needed to be acquired. Scheduled the required service. Again, arrived early the next morning. Great job! Slightly higher price than I expected, yet GREAT service!

I was very pleased when Garrett completed his extraordinary efforts to get our water service back into usable condition. For the amount of thought and effort he put out, I felt that the charge was very reasonable.
The first call to Hoover Plumbing was made when I got up early on the morning of 6/25 and discovered that we had no water at all coming into the house. Garrett called me back well before 8:00 am and said that he had another appointment for 8:30 am and would call me as soon as he got through there. He did that and got to the house around 10:45 am. He quickly made repairs to the broken water pipe outside the house. A little while after he left, we found that some of the toilets would not flush and the cold water faucets only flowed at a trickle. I called Garrett and told him what was happening. He came back out and, after much unrewarded work, discovered that the rush of water back into the house had flushed the softener beads in the water softener system in the basement into the pipes throughout the house effectively clogging up the toilet fixtures and the cold water faucets. The only reason that the hot water worked OK was that the beads had not completely filled the hot water heater tank - yet. Garrett built a bypass to remove the water softener system from the pipes (We were not using it anyway). He also worked at each faucet, shower, toilet, and the hot water heater to clear the beads from the system and replace the parts that were now made unusable. He spent the greater part of his day at our house putting our water system back into usable shape. He is an outstanding service provider. Because of this experience and other previous times that Garrett and the other Hoover Plumbing guys have helped us out in plumbing malfunctions, we will always call them for any future plumbing needs of any kind. Their experience level and willingness to do whatever it takes to fix our plumbing problems has proved them to be a valuable source every time we've had a need for their services. We will definitely recommend them to anyone we meet who has a plumbing problem.

Garrett was efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. We feared a massive tear-down of ealls, but that didn't happen. He went out to find a replacement faucet, fixed the problem, caulked around the faucet and lever plates. Fixed the rattle in our guest bath pipes. Gave us some excellent advice on future plumbong purchases. Recommend them highly.

Called the morning of 4/18/2013 and was told that they could be out to the house by 4:00 PM that day. They were there 5 minutes early and started the work within minutes of arrival. The outside faucet had broke in half and within 30 minutes he had replaced the faucet, cleaned up, and was putting my garden tools back where he had been working. Very nice young man that knew what he was doing. Would use again.

My sewer system was backed up; this has happened before, so I knew what had to be done. I scheduled an appointment as early as possible (1:00 p.m. that day, call was placed at 8:15 a.m.), and the workers showed up about 20 minutes after that time. They did not give me a call 30 mins before as they said they would, but that's not a big deal.
I showed the gentlemen (two guys) where the access point was in the ground and they dug and quickly found it. Ran the snake just fine, cleared everything out, and then offered the camera service at a discount since it was a short length ($200 instead of $300). I agreed, then they used the device to show me where roots had grown through the pipe. Using an RF receiver device (looks like a ray gun from a sci-fi movie), one of the workers walked out the location of the problems. We discussed, and then they offered an estimate for a total fix ($2k).

I was very pleased with Hoover Plumbing I had used them in the past to unplug some slow running drains. I feel they do what they say they are going to do and there were no"surprises" as far as pricing.
