Hinkle Roofing

Everything went very well. Workers showed up around 615 am and were finished by early afternoon. The project manager came by later and did a final magnetic swipe around the house to make sure there were no roofing nails in the grass. The following day, an electrician (hired by Hinkle as part of the proposal) came to run the circuit in the attic to connect the power vent. I was well pleased with the entire job that Hinkle did - and their price was very competitive with other bids I received from other companies.

I called Hinkle a week and a half ago, talked to a representative. I told her about the leaks and the five year warranty. She said someone would be out to assess the situation.  To date, no one from Hinkle has called or come out.  Instead of dealing with Hinkle, I had someone else do the work.
 
This reminded me of dealing with Hinkle in 2012 during the initial work.  Hinkle said the job would take three days.  Two or three guys showed up and worked for a few hours per day.  On the third day I call Hinkle and received no satisfaction.  The job took 5.5 to 6 days.
When they finally finished, I went up to inspect.  The new roof and attic fan looked good.  Later I discovered my living room lights / fan didn't work, no power.  In the attic I discovered the roofers had cut the power cables when they removed old attic fan.  Had to call Hinkle two or three times before an electrician finally came out to restore power to my living room...three days later.
 

Prompt and professional service.  Would recommend and use again.

Arrived on site with a full crew. Started early and finished quickly.

They are awesome, they did a good work done, they were professional. I really don't know about the pricing, so I would say a B.

Roof Leaks- purchased new roof in 2013 that is leaking less than one year after purchase. Called three times to have Hinkle come take a look and they will not return my calls or come to my home.

Two Mt. Brook residents recommended Bob Baker of Hinkle Roofing as an honest and reputable roofing specialist.  Despite the B rating on Angie's list, I called Bob and he came out the same day, gave me a good quote.  Within three days, he sent a team of very friendly and diligent workers to complete the repair on our roof.  We are very pleased with the results, the quote, the service and the price.  We would not hesitate to use Hinkle Roofing again, and would easily and comfortably recommend them to others for their roofing repair needs. 

They were recommended by Chuck. I’ve had no problems. They did a good job. They came out and checked the order and checked on the people installing it.They honored Chuck's price that he had quoted me. I don't know that they normally charge but I was happy. I did get other estimates and they were in line with the other companies. I had 3 estimates and they all were within $500.

They were fair.

Once the work was "complete" I had to call several times to confirm that the job had indeed been done.  There was no note left, no invoice, no sign at all that the shingles that had fallen off had been replaced.  Two weeks after they said that they came out and replaced the shingles, we experienced a leak in the bathroom that left new stains on the ceiling of our bathroom directly beneath where the damaged shingles had been reported.  I called them and they claimed that the roof was repaired and stood by the story that they had indeed come out to our house.  I told them that I didn't believe them and that I had a problem paying them for work that I doubted had been completed or had been done poorly.  They refused to work with us despite the fact that we had to hire a competent roofer and a contractor to paint and repair the stains.  Not only that, but the competent company was half the price!  Do not use this horrible firm.

Gordon Gilmore can out to give me an estimate and the leaks were easy so he repaired himself.  He was a really nice guy.  I will call him again for future problems.  He charged me $250 dollars which was quite reasonable.
I had another roofing company that is rated number 1 on Angies List that gave me an estimate for $750 for the same job.   They were really trying to rip me off.

Jeff Baker came out and gave the estimate prompt and courteous. Jeff Salman handled scheduling the crew to come out and do the job. I expressed concerns about not letting debris and roofing nails fall into my backyard because we have dogs and I would not want them to eat a nail. They covered my entire backyard, as well as the front shrubs, with tarps and we have yet to find any debris.  The day after the roof was installed, we had tornado watches in the area. So I was worried we would have issues with the shingles not being sealed yet. So far we have had no problems. 
One other note about customer service with Hinkle......I had a hard time picking a color and finally got it down to 3 choices. Their office closes at 5pm however they were nice enough to stay about 10 minutes late one night for me to come pick up a full 3 tab shingle to confirm my color selection. They didn't have to stay late, but I'm glad they were willing to work with me.
I would use them again, hopefully it won't be soon, with having done the whole roof.
I would recommend them to anyone that asks me.

They were very nice. I'm not sure about the price. They seemed very knowledgeable.

We were told they were the best.  I will say that they were the most expensive.  We went with them because people recommended them, but we will never do business with them again.  They did a poor job.  They had to come back out.  They left nails in the gutters; we had to wash them out.  We wouldn't even contact them for the warranty; we would contact the company that made the shingles directly.  They used Hispanics who couldn't even speak English.  I don't know if they were legal or illegal.  However, they were insured.

I like them. The fixed our problem inexpensively and we have had no further problems with it. If I had a major problem that's who I would call. They were very respectful and I will use them again in the future.

They are a huge company and have been around for a long time.  They were not the lowest bidders but we went in for them because of their reputation and experience.  They finished the work in one day; the other companies had said it would take them a week to do the same job.  They are extremely hard workers and they were just terrific.  They cleaned up after themselves.  I would use them again in the future if I needed to.

We are not too happy. We called them and it was a remarkably impersonal experience. We called them and they left us an estimate in the mailbox. We asked them to go ahead and do it, they did it and we still had the leak.

It is a historic home and we had 4 layers of shingles! Unfortunately they also damaged a new paint job on the house but they came back and touched it up. It took them a long time to get to it though. They also covered my bushes so the damage to plants was minimized, with this much roofing material coming down it was hard not to affect some plants. I used them on my prior house as well and they did a great job with that one also. They are very good with the clean up after-wards, other than the paint touch-up, but that required a different crew.

Absolutely no complaints.

They came out on time, and did a good job with the work. They were responsive, and punctual and we have no complaints with this company.

The cost was the lowest compared to two other bids I had received. But you need to get other bids and show them to Lowes to get a lower price. The work was completed as scheduled and in one day. I have waited to see if any leaks would occur and after almost 4 months, I have had no problems.
