We had a plumbing emergency. Our sewer line was plugged by tree roots. Raw sewage backed up into our basement apartment, through the shower drain. It overflowed into the bathroom & bedroom, wicking up into the walls of the bathroom, closet, sink cabinet & carpets. Disaster! Britt Thompson (of HB Thompson) had originally planned & built the apartment for us 8 years before, so he was the first one I tried. Upon discovering that he had a break in his schedule & was available, I hired him over the phone. Usually I would get 3 companies to give a quote & choose one from that, but our experience with him had originally been so positive that I knew he was the man for the job! The Serv-Pro guys had taken out all of the affected material (down to the wood frame). Then Britt took advantage of some unused square footage to send some alternate plans for enlarging the shower & closet. (He's also had some architectural training.) We spent a bit more, because we had the carpets put in by a carpet company. ($260). I think we did a little of the painting ourselves (to help lower the man hours, but had them install 2 new toilets in other bathrooms. Because his quote had been very specific we were able to negotiate some of these little changes. He would allow for it if I wanted to go pick out some fixtures & pay for them myself by lowering what I paid him. It was all quite clearly spelled out so there was no misunderstanding. He was patient to answer my (many!) questions as well. When my ship comes in we are planning a larger main kitchen remodel. I'll wait until he's available to do that job because he is so reliable, so honest, so easy to work with. He does much of the work himself but has reputable guys working with him too.

They did outstanding. This was the second time we have used this company and we would use them again. They do a tremendous job. They are easy to work with and explain things. They give you options and don't try to press you one way or another.
