We would never use this provider again. The doctor had a very negative manner and I did not feel confident at all in her degree of expertise. Our regular vet soon afterward made a completely different, and accurate, diagnosis. I understand that emergency vets are categorically expensive, but I thought the price was out of line with the services performed.

The staff professionally stabilized the neurological condition of our cat and were very kind to my wife during the situation. Doing your job professionally is one thing, but, being compassionate to a frantic owner and taking the time to keep her informed is a significant plus. I was out f town on business and was glad to here how my wife was supported during a time of stress.

My previous dog had had a cyst removed from his leg. They removed the cyst and stitched it up. The following Monday they took out the stitches. When I got home, the wound was opened, he had licked it open. I took my dog to the ER and from what I understand from my vet is that they should have stapled it back closed again and let him deal with him. Instead, they sewed it shut and gave me a nice bill. They took advantage of me.

Over the years my dog has been a frequent flier at this clinic and they have literally saved her life on two different occasions. On this visit I showed up with her around 5 am on a Saturday morning- she had fever and was in respiratory distress. As soon as I walked in and explained that she was receiving chemo and radiation therapy they took her to the treatment room and the attending vet immediately came out to obtain a history and give me an idea of what they would do. During her visit she was given antibodics, IV fluids, oxgyen and a blood transfusion in order to stablize her so I could transfer her back to Auburn. Overall, she spent around 10-11 hours in the hospital. Even though they normally discuss estimated costs before treatment money was not mentioned until I picked her up. I appreciated that the staff focused on taking care of my Daisy rather then talking about money first- I was left with the feeling that their main focus was on caring for my dog. I wasn't interested in discussing costs, I knew that the bill was not going to be cheap after all you get what you pay for.
Several years back Daisy also had emergency surgery and stayed for several days for an intestinal obstruction and I was equally pleased with both the care she received and my interactions with the staff that time.

.She has improved, but she will still limp and "bunny hop" her back legs sometimes, It doesn't seem to hurt her anymore. She jumps and plays. Has no scar at all. She spent one night in the hospital and walked out putting weight on her newly repaired leg the next morning.. We understood that some dogs take longer to do this, but she was a real champ about it.It is challenging trying to keep a young dog inactive for a while, but my husband and I are retired and could give her a lot of attention

I called AMC and they said I needed to bring Pepper in. They said they would go ahead and sew him up under anesthesia. I could have had them just put a staple in until I could get him back into the original place. They were just concerned with making as much money off of me as possible when they would have sewn him up for free at the original place. My dog had a hard time that evening. He wouldn't even get in the car. I had a nurse come out to help me get him in. Once he saw the nurse he jumped right in. He didn't want to be with the nurse. This whole experience was a nightmare. My vet was furious about it.
