I was pre-approved for a home loan through this mortgage company earlier this year. Things seemed to be running smoothly, but I found it strange that my loan officer would never return my phone calls or respond to my emails until days later...if he even responded at all. I would try to call weekly to make sure they had everything they needed from me, and I was told "yes." However, as my closing date got closer, I suddenly was asked to submit new information or information that I had already sent to them before. On the day of closing (approx. 90 min. before the scheduled closing time), I got a phone call from my loan officer (who tried to cast the blame on everyone but himself and was caught in several lies) who said that they never got confirmation of employment from my employer. My employer handles these requests through a third party company that takes 24-48 hours to provide the information. They didn't even try to obtain this information until the day of closing. This is something I would have thought they would have requested when I applied for the loan (6 months earlier), or at least long before the closing date. To say the least, my closing had to be delayed and my movers had to be cancelled because of this debacle. When I tell my story to other residents in my new neighborhood, they all have similar stories and experiences with this mortgage company. It's a shame that it seems this company hasn't learned from their mistakes and tried to change their ways.
