They were focused on getting as much money from the insurance company as possible, but they delivered a terrible product in an untimely manner

They literally set my house on fire and then somehow made the problem WORSE. We hired DEC to clean up a water leak in our home. One of their drying fans caught fire while we were sleeping in the home with our children. We managed to get out, the fire department was called, the fire was put out. We had massive smoke damage to our home. Realistically, the fan catching fire was probably not their fault - it was probably a faulty fan. That's for the insurance companies and lawyers to decide. What I *DO* know is that after their equipment set my house on fire, they handled the aftermath EXTREMELY poorly. They came into the home immediately after the fire and moved our belongings around, which ended up causing even more damage to those items. Items that could have been cleaned were ultimately damaged beyond repair by their team. They also ran equipment in the home all weekend to clear the smoke while we were not allowed in the house. During that time they left the doors unlocked and multiple first floor windows open for 48 hours completely unattended. At NO point did anyone apologize to me; you would think that if you set someone house on fire at call from the owner would be the least they could do. Instead, I called them repeatedly and could not get a response from anyone on the team when their equipment had effectively rendered myself and my children homeless. When I did finally get in touch with someone, they constantly blamed other team members instead of accepting responsibility. When I tried to escalate, they just gave me the main office number for the receptionist instead of giving me any type of supervisor. After all this, they ended up coming onto my property without my permission while we were not home, entering the house, and trying to remove equipment involved in the fire that they were explicitly instructed by the insurance company's lawyers NOT to remove. At this point I had to threaten legal action if they trespassed again. I just had an absolutely horrible experience with this company and would not recommend them to anyone.

We did not have a good experience with this company. If you are in a situation where you need water removed, just know they are going to do all they can to price gauge your insurance company. They make things seem worse than they are just to take advantage. The prices are through the roof, and they are incredibly disorganized. Communication is terrible and they are negligent. If you use this company, be prepared to be inconvenienced and bombarded with excuses.

Took more than a month to complete just the mold removal process. DEC was supposed to remove the mold and construction debris, instead left bags in out garage, though an email from the owner, Daryl, stated they were finished. Extremely poor remodeling and repair, damaged baseboards and personal possessions during the remodel and repair. We repeatedly asked the owner to visit our home, to see what we were complaining about, even sent him pictures of the problems, he never made the effort. During sheet rock repair, the AC vents were left uncovered. When we returned home from a month in a hotel, sheetrock dust was on the floors, and got on our shoes as we walked. In our opinion, DEC failed, in numerous cases, to follow basic industry standards and the owner seemed uninterested in what his employees did in our home. We would never use again, we definitely would pick a competitor!

We had a great experience with DEC. We were pretty sure the water from the upstairs bathroom had ruined our hardwoods in the hallway downstairs but after they brought in and installed their mat system as well as dehumidifiers and fans, the hardwoods looked fine. The guys were hardworking, polite and easy to talk to during the entire process. They took care of the insurance situation and got us a fair claim check to cover the damage. Could not be more pleased with their work and professionalism as well as the results!!

Crew was not given instruction of work order. Company works through Smartphone. You must have PDF to receive copy of work order and they don't fill out receipts for payments. Had to contact BBB and Ch. 6 on your side to get a supervisor to come look at the work done and to get a crew to come back. Then they a parasite under our mobilehome. They spread lime to dry the area and kill the bugs. Been over 2 weeks and still haven't come back to lay the liner. They are doing the lime treatment for free. But I'm going to have to call CBS News to get them to intervene to get the work finish.

They were here when they said that they would be. They came in and put lime on the ground where our leak was so that the plumber could get in and repair the leak and then they came in and dried the wet area for a full 72 hours

My 85-year old mother hired a plumber to replace the water heater. The plumber told us the crawl space under the house was flooded and had mold. He gave her the card for DEC. Jeff and Curtis came out promptly. Curtis went under the house and reported there was very little water -- only a bit in some of the boards under the water heater -- and no mold. Jeff said that they would blow the crawl space out to get rid of that moisture. They brought out a machine called a dragon to blow the crawl space. They also set up a small blower and a dehumidifier in the area of the water heater. They left the machines running for three days, coming back each day to read the humidity level in the kitchen. My mother had not gotten an estimate. The insurance forms were filed for her. The insurance company called today and said the total bill was $6245. That is a lot of money for a little moisture and no mold. My parents are having to pay the $1000 deductible and the insurance company is covering the rest.

Went excellently! I worked with Thomas who was very responsive and who understood my concerns. He sent his crew in immediately to start work, and someone from his crew returned everyday to check status of the drying. They stayed until the job was done, no matter how long it took. Thomas answered all my questions and was very honest and helpful. My tentants were also very pleased with the professionalism and responsiveness of the company. I would definitely recommend DEC.

D E C Construction repaired the damage done to my home when it was struck by lightening. They did an average job of repairs and repainting the walls. The cost was covered by insurance. They were here in a timely manner. The workers were helpful to get our home livable again.
