Critter Control

I contacted Critter Control for services at my house in metro Birmingham. They arrived but did not preform any services and said that they would return. They did not return but charged me $700 for the services! I never even signed a contract with them!!!!

The service was excellent.

Still in touch with them to come and try to fix the problem.

Critter Control sent someone out to the house very quickly (though I had to pay an exorbitant same-day fee). He captured 1 of the squirrels, said they had gotten in through the chimney, told my teenage son that he should block the chimney with flashing, then left with only 1 of the 2 squirrels. The other squirrel came back into the room a few hours later. I wish they had a left a baited trap in the bedroom in case the 2nd squirrel returned (as it did). I called again and they sent the same person out a second time. Unfortunately, the squirrel was no longer in the room by the time he returned. He said he wasn't allowed to block a chimney and again described how we might do this (but it requires tools and skills that we do not have). So we still have a chimney that has not been blocked & a squirrel that knows how to get in and out of that chimney and room. The bedroom is now closed off and unused. I dare not clean up the filthy mess for fear the squirrel will return and make another mess..

They did a great job. I was very pleased.

They did not capture anything in their traps, but the holes continued to appear in our yard. Their conclusion was that after setting and checking the traps for a few weeks, they had fulfilled their obligation--despite the fact that new holes were appearing in our yard. This seems like a pointless service to me.  The customer pays in advance, they set traps, with no results, they check the traps twice and consider their contract fulfilled.

We have a problem with flying squirrels in the attic and mice in the garage.  Critter Control suggested we do several things, including fix/replace the metal flashing, etc., which they could do, of course.  The Critter Control technician didn't seem to know as much as I was able to learn on the internet about flying squirrels and just set a few mouse traps here and there in the attic.  He set a few in the garage, as well, and I was expected to check them and call if there was anything caught.  After a month he caught 2 mice in the garage and that was it.  We did end up replacing gutters, flashing and several other things with another company not related to critter control with no change in our flying squirrel population's habits or entry into our house.

Went well. No more bats!

They tried to remove the critter but they couldn't get it out.They were also very pushy.

Critter Control is located in Birmingham. I thought they were very knowledgeable. They were able to quickly identify that it was mice, which we thought were squirrels in our attic. They came and put in some pellets for the mice in our attic and were able to resolve the problem. The work went fine and we are happy with them. Their price was a little expensive. I would use their service in the future if needed.
