CITI MORTGAGE

Description of Work: CitiMortgage is awful to work with on many levels. My mortgage was bought by them on the secondary mortgage market some years ago and any time I've had to contact them for anything they are very UNcooperative and NOT customer focused or friendly. They are all rules and regulations and extra charges, with no personal interests. They will hound you to death with adversting by mail, email and phone calls. I get so many calls from them that I just refuse to answer any calls from Citi, and even though I've told them time and again to quit callling, they will not. I am currently shopping for a refi and would never consider them. There's a commercial on XM radio that says mortgages should be illegal and I have to agree. They make obscene amounts of money on the interest alone and yet feel they can and should charge extra for every little thing. In my opinion, they should not be allowed to charge anything for your mortgage business other than the interest since they make so much money on that. Closing costs, origination fees, etc are just additional profit for the mortgage companies. As consumers let's object to all of these fees and get costs reduced. I realize that some of my comments are about the mortgage industry in general, however my experience with Citi is that they are the typical, "get every penny we can" out of consumers company. I'm looking for a mortgage company that has a better way. I'll be glad when my refi is done and Citi no longer gets a penny of my money in their fat corporate bank accounts.
