I had a great experience with Charter so far. I'm waiting for a major storm to check to see if the cable works during a storm. At this time I would recommend this company.

They are charging me $28.30 for BASIC TV service (only the broadcast channels that could come over the air - Think old school)
And then their internet service is $54.99 per month which includes a new $7/month "internet modem lease" that they just tacked on 7 months ago, even though the modem is 6 YEARS old!
Get this, if I don't drive over to their office in Vestavia to return the 6 year old little modem they will charge me a flat fee of $47 for the loss of this ancient piece of technology that I've already paid $49 to "lease"!
Good riddance.

A lot of trouble and delays with WiFi at our laptop.  Lately having similar problems with the desk top wired internet. 
If service doen't improve, I will be switching to another service provider.

I placed an order for Charter internet service about 2 weeks ago and setup an appointment for 8/10/12 between 8-10 AM.  At 9:45 I called to see where they were and was informed that it would be closer to 11 before they could show up.  If I am paying a company for a service I expect them to show up during my scheduled time and not just wait around until they decide to show up. This is the 3rd time Charter has not showed up to appointments I have made in the last 2 years.  I just cancelled all my service with them and doubt I will ever give them another chance.

We have to use Charter since it is only one available. I don't like them. Right now they have deleted several channels and making us get a box to get those back. We have no other choice as far as cable. Their price is kind of high.

I have been using them for 2 and 3 years. I get annoyed with them because it goes out. They have good customer service, but a strong wind will knock their signal out once in a while. You have to call them and let them know.

I'm not a big fan. I paid them monthly. Their billing was terrible and they were totally inflexible with their plans. They were not prompt whenever anything went wrong. They would say they would be there between 10-2 and they might show up or they might not show up that same day. I was pretty much unhappy with everything. The people on the phone were not good but the people that came out were nice. I would not use them again.

We kept getting calls postponing the appointment, but once the guy got here, everything was great. At least the office calls you if the repairmen won't be on time; many places don't do that. Guy got here and set up everything within 10 minutes; also explained everything thoroughly in a way I could understand.

Terrible. Long waits on the phone. Missed appointments. I called on several appointments when they were late, to be told they had canceled. I asked for the tech's name or id # to be able to report them. They wouldn't give it to me. One time they said no one was at home. My wife and I had waited at home an entire Saturday. I have never been so disgusted with a company. No solutions. Half the times a tech showed up. Switched to satellite service.

I was happy with the service provided by Charter Cable. They installed everything just how I wanted it. He was here when promised. The worker was funny and helpful. I would recommend this company to others.
