Overall went well; very thoughtful professional that genuinely cares about the service rendered to customers. Bill is very knowledgeable and willing to get the job done. He is very candid. And example of how much he cares about the quality of workmanship, Bill called me to prove his thoughts on how I could get even better perception and picture quality for my tv days after he’d finished the job. Would definitely use this company again.

I explained to him what I thought the problem was and he replaced the parts. He showed up when he said he would. He completed the work in my home in less than an hour. the tv works fine now.

We initially contacted Service Care to repair our TV. After a month and three times with Barry replacing parts and not being able to fix our TV, he said it was irreparable. Since the TV was still under an AMEX extended warranty, we called Bluff Park TV hoping someone might be more knowledgeable about TV repair. The guy is a little rough around the edges, but he really knows TVs. He came to our house, picked up the TV and brought it back to his shop for assessment. I received a call the next day estimating the cost and detailing the work that needed to be done. There was no negotiating the price, but he repaired it and delivered it back to our house in pristine condition. It's working beautifully and he included a 1 year warranty on parts and labor for an additional $50. I highly recommend Bluff Park TV. They really know their stuff.

I contacted the business owner and I explained to him the issues that the TV was having.  I was extremely explicit in what was going on with the TV.  I had hoped that he would offer an opinion over the phone on what the problem might be to head me off from bringing in the television to have it checked.  I had done a bit of my own research on the problem and read a few repair blogs on similar problems.  He refused to give any advice on the phone and told me there was a $20 fee to have it checked.  I had read the majority of the reviews and didn't see any major issues with the service this guy provided, so I agreed to bring him the television.  I got to his shop and immediately noticed the sign above the door that said free estimates.  So, obviously there was a policy change since the sign was installed and no one thought to take it down or they didn't have the money to have it replaced (which is more likely).  I get into the shop and the place is in a state of disrepair with TV's and parts laying everywhere in plain site for all his customers to see.  The "store policies" are written in sharpie on the walls of the store, which a child could have done a better job in writing. So, I am clearly seeing the red flags from the get go.  I have met and worked with some eclectic people and many of them even though they are seemingly disorganized, they know exactly where things are and they can make sense of their mess.  Against my better judgment, I paid the twenty dollars and left the TV in his hands.  I was told that he would open it and take a look and give me a call in a couple of hours (this was 11:30am), I waited till about 5pm and gave him a call.  He said he had not gotten to it and would call me in about 10 minutes.  An hour later he calls me and tells me he needs to order parts and the it would cost $310.  I asked what parts he had to order and he told me he would not tell me and that was his policy and that I could clearly read that in his shop while I was there.  Well, I was not ready to make the decision based on the lack of information he provided.  He could not even tell me what was wrong with the TV.  So, I sat on it for a while to contemplate whether or not I should go with this guy for the rest of the repair.  His policies were not like any other retail or service establishment I had ever been to.  Finally, I called him back and asked him again about the charges, hoping to get a better response.  I was again met with resistance to acknowledging what the charges were for and what parts needed to be ordered.  He gave me some speech about how he was not going to make much money on the repair and he was giving me a fair price.  I was not arguing with him over the fairness of his pricing, just the fact that I was not being told what needed to be done and what parts needed to be ordered.  I was willing to give this guy my money even though he was being secretive about his services.  Well, the guy told me that I asked more questions than any of his customers.  I was blown away with this statement and had no response to it.  At the end of our conversation he stated again that it was a fair price and that he could get it fixed.  Well, again, against my better judgment, I agreed for him to order the parts and fix the TV.  I waited a few hours and stewed over what had been told to me.  I called him back after business hours to tell him to cease all work and I would be by to pick up the TV.  He answered the phone and we had a conversation.  I told him that I did not want him to work on the TV and that I didn't feel right proceeding with our business.  He then proceeded to tell me about his unsuccessful attempts in the past to repair these types of televisions and that he was not even sure if what he was going to order was going to fix the problem.  He also stated that he was upset that I interrupted his personal time, when he clearly could have chosen not to answer the phone.  I instructed him that I would be by to pick up the TV the following day.  We ended our conversation abruptly.  I received a call the following morning from the business owner, telling me to come get my TV because he wanted it out of his sight.  I told him that I was at work and could not get it right this second and that I would be by to pick it up later that day.  I went to go get the TV and so concluded our horrible experience with this business owner.
If you are not already dissuaded from using this business let me say this:  If this guy was the last TV repair person on earth, I would rather set my TV on fire and watch it burn than let this guy work on my TV.  Not only does he not know how to diagnose and find out what the problem could be with the current technology,  he is willing to order and replace parts unsure of whether he can fix the problem, wasting your money and his own in the process.  His lack of experience with current technology is only overshadowed by his lack of people skills and customer service. I would recommend you take your TV elsewhere.  On a lighter note, I did get the problem diagnosed over the phone by Best Buy's Geek Squad.  I explained to the guy over the phone the exact same thing I tried telling the other guy.  He told me that he knew exactly what was wrong with it: it needed a new display, a part that would have cost me $1500.  He said he could send someone out to the house, but he was going to tell me the exact same thing.  Finally, I was connected with someone competent of the issues with the current technology.  Do yourself a favor and call around to get a better idea of what is going on with your TV before wasting your time and energy.

Mr. Donalson missed the first 2 appointments to come to the house to see if the TV could be repaired on site.  During the third appointment he determined he could not fix it on site and so would have to take it to the shop.  I had advised him the TV in question was a 60" flat screen but he did not have anyone to help him load the very heavy TV so I helped. My husband works out of town and I am not very strong but I wanted him to be able to get the TV repaired so I did not want to wait for him to find someone to help him and then have to reschedule. I had already missed several hours of work on the missed appointments.
After remarking that our TV had no controls ON the TV, that it only worked via a remote, he forgot to take the remote with him.  It was two days later that he realized he did not have the remote so I had to take it to him. We don't live near Bluff Park.
A couple days later he called to find out if I knew how to program the remote to sync it with the TV.  Then he said he would find out how to sync it by looking on the internet.
He was successful in making the remote work, accurately diagnosed the problem and repaired the TV for $360.  (I paid $55 for the house call and pick up fee.)
When he returned the TV he did not bring anyone to help him carry it.  However, the TV has worked fine ever since we reconnected it.
It seems Mr. Donalson knows how to repair TVs but his disorganization makes working with the company very frustrating.  If you can deliver your TV to him you will probably be happy with the service.

It was smooth for me.  I called the shop to arrange a time to bring the TV to them.  He has a fair policy of asking for a minimum $20, non-refundable, but that $20 is credited to the final repair bill.  The $20 is fair because it takes time to determine the problem and prepare an estimate of  repair cost.  I was pleased with the service and will call him the next time I have a non-working TV that I want fixed.

He came out right away.  He took the TV in and ran some tests.  He was able to repair and he returned the next afternoon. It has worked perfectly ever since. I had no complaints whatsoever.
