Bag Pipe Plumbing

Washer was replaced in faucet #1. Bag-pipe owner did not have the parts to repair faucet #2 & said he would have to make another trip to my house. I suggested, unfortunately, that we replace the faucet unit since he had to come back anyway. An assistant came with the part -- hours late -- and installed it. He then gave me a verbal, unitemized statement of $450.00. I told him I could not pay this amount. He would not accept a credit card and would not give a written statement or have one sent to me. He called the owner, who gave an amended price of 350.00 which I paid, and the assistant drove away with a working part of the washer hook-up, without which the washer was unusuable. I called their dispatcher and the assistant before the close of the business day, trying to get the assistant to return. No one returned my call. I left a message for the owner, who called about 7:00 PM saying the assistant would not return until the next day. He was abusive, kept me on the phone a long time before hanging up on me and spoke in an extremely inappropriate way, attacking my personality and character. I have since paid the full remainder of this astronomic bill and filed a complain with the Better Business Bureau.

They were great! Job was right in line with the estimate I got over the phone (which beat the estimate from Lowes by over $100). Brady even informed me that I could get a rebate on the new water heater from the gas company.

He is pleasant and professional.

There are not many people I recommend, but I do with Mike Bagby.  He came highly recommended to me years ago and in turn, I recommend him to everyone I know. They do the same with their friends, so you know there is something great about him when so many people forward their recommendations.  I can't really give an estimate on price because with plumbing, depending on the repair job, the cost can vary wildly. We've found his pricing to better than the big name operations, though.  I'll never use a big plumbing company again.
Mike is friendly, knowledgeable, honest, and fair with his work and pricing. He has been our plumber for many years, and I have never had a problem with his service.  He works until the plumbing issue is resolved to his satisfaction and yours--and he is very conscientious of the quality of his work.  Mike has been in our house so much and done so many jobs for us that we really consider him more of a friend than a repairman.  His professionalism and care for your home is a rare find in his line of work..  We feel like we have found a  treasure in Mike.  I almost hate to share him with the community, but he truly deserves all the business he can handle


UPDATE:  Apparently Mike has sold his business to another guy although the company name remains the same.  I don't know if he is still performing any of the service calls. The young man I spoke with to schedule a toilet repair was very nice, but he had to postpone my appointment because of a flooding emergency with another customer.  That is perfectly understandable, but he told me he would call me later when he could make it over my way.  That was several days ago and I haven't heard back from him. I didn't even get the courtesy of a call to let me know that he was going to cancel my appointment (as opposed to letting me think he would be coming later in the day.)  As a result, I had to use another plumber who clearly overcharged me.  I am so very disappointed in the whole situation.

He arrives at the time that he tells us to expect him, and if there's a delay, he calls to inform me that he will be late.  I have found this to be the exception rather than the rule here in greater Birmingham.  
He's very competent, honest, focused, and  amiable.   When Mike fixes a problem, it's fixed.   
If a job requires a different  area of expertise, he tells us.  He is a professional treasure, and I wouldn't consider contacting anyone else.

This job went great and I'm very pleased with the work.

I called Mike at 8:00 a.m. on the day after Christmas to repair an outdoor pipe that had begun leaking due to sub-freezing weather.  He was at the house by 10:30 that morning and quickly began work.  It took hom a little while to find the shut off for the outdoor line but once that was done, he was able to fix promptly.  While he was there, I had him look at a blocked lavatory in an bathroom.  He quickly diagnosed the cause of the blockage and cleared the line.  All the while, he was both very professional and very friendly.  He took the time to explain everything as he was doing the work.  Good guy -- great plumber!

Great! Mike was very responsive - her returned my call quickly and was able to meet me within a few hours.  He knew was he was doing and  fixed everything quickly and efficiently.  I will not hesitate to call on Mike again.

They are on the best plumbers in Birmingham. They are always on time and always do a great job. I have used them a lot.

Project awaiting parts.

I was very pleased with his professionalism, promptness, skill  and knowledge.  He was able to fix my plumbling problems quickly and efficiently.  I definitely would hire him again for my plumbling repairs.
The drain in our master bath shower was completely clogged with hard water deposits. He used a motorized "snake" to clean the pipe/drain.  Now the drain is functioning perfectly. He also replaced rings in sink faucet handle to stop the handle from leaking when turned on.

We hired Mike for a couple of small jobs on the house that we recently sold. He was prompt, professional, and does great work. And he has a great personality too. Although we haven't had any plumbing issues at our new residence, we absolutely will call him if anything comes up. Highly recommended.

It was great from beginning to end. He was a pleasure to work with and is a very friendly and positive person.

For example, he just came to my house to replace a failing kitchen faucet.  He recommended a reliable brand and even called his parts supplier to make sure that they gave me his 25% discount rate.  I also thought that I needed to replace our master bath faucet which was going to be very expensive.  I would have had to buy both faucets for the bathtub and then would have to replace all of the faucets and shower head etc. if I wanted them to match.  He also told me that since it was a garden bathtub, he would have to actually cut out the side panel in order to access the faucet to remove and replace it.  He told me that that would take a very long time and would therefore cost me more money.  He then told me that he thought he could fix the faucet without replacing it.  Previously, I had just assumed that we needed to replace it.  He fixed it and I SAVED about $400.00 in new faucet costs! (No kidding!)  He also evaluated what we thought was a big (house damaging) leak in our shower.  He looked everything over and informed us that the water stains were dry and that they came from alot of water previously splashing on the floor of the bathroom.  (Probably when one of my kids took a shower in there. :-)  He could have told us that we needed to replace it and we would have assumed he was right but Mike is a very HONEST person and will always give you the best advice.
